marquez at 40, slow because of aging or because he put everything into his punches

Its no surprise that the guy is at an age where most stop boxing but its also not a surprisewhat each punches intent was in the fourth fight. At times he looked quite sloppy because of how much he was looking for that perfect punch which he ended up beautifully setting up. He went off balance at times but also landing beautiful counterpunches after turning pacquiaos aggression against him. Now what are your guys opinions? To me I don't believe even at 40 his hand speed has slowed down or has he really looked his age. I believe that the game plan was to get the knockout and throw every lunch with k.o intent which meant in sitting down on every opportunity which could possible explain him being off balance at times. I remember one part where jmm''s arm had flew back because he got too impatient himself like pacquiao. You can age over night and if the 5th fight happens I wouldn't be surprised. Nacho had said he wasn't worried about speed on the fourth fight and not that sparring tells you much but he looked like the casual imma during his sparring sessions. What are your opinions?

I think it was due to the gameplan of throwing with a lot more venom.
Fairly sure he could still keep up if he boxed but whats the point if you just get robbed.

everything, age.. he became bigger, bulked up, when you become bigger often your speed goes away. normal with extra weight or does a porsch go faster when there 3 people in it?

I think he gameplan was to win big but he always put everything in his punches I'm pretty sure it was because of age he's even older than Pacquiao

looked slower because he was getting tagged up nice. He was looking for that big shot an he got it. He wanted to brawl not box. punchin through your target can make you look slower, he wasnt lookin to pull his shots

He wasn't exactly slow but Pacquiao's speed makes him look slow. Hopkins looked ultra fast and flashy against Pavlik only to look old and slow against Calzaghe.

I rewatched the fight last night and was reminded that Marquez was doing better than made out to be. He looked the way he did in the fourth fight due to a boxing based off his KO manny at all costs strategy.

Age, bulk, and bad intentions slowed him a bit. He knew he could hit Packie cause he hit him in all the previous fights. He wanted Packie to feel every punch, no matter where he touched him. Packie was trying to protect himself from that left hook to the body when he ran in there with his chin wide open and got knocked the **** out. JMM trained especially for that but I don't think he will fight that way in his next fight and will probably be a tad faster.

He looked like a hulk and power definitely went up 10 percent. He prepared well for this fight having all the necessary components like a conditioning coach for an impressive win. They both looked slow to me and were hitting hard. But marquez was hitting so much harder than ever before. WOW! It was an epic fight. Marquez has always been the better boxer but this time he was also the harder and lethal puncher.

I don't think muscles (at least in the amount JMM has) don't slow you down it takes a lot of muscles to slow you down just look at sprinters even at lanky ones like Bolt and wasn't Heredia working for track & field athletes?
