So first of all, what the **** was Jay Nady's problem? He was looking right at them when Barrera KD'd Marquez. He definitely saw them. Why didn't he call it a knock-down? Second of all, what the **** was Barrera's problem? Taking that shot to Marquez's head when he was on all fours like that was pretty ****ing low. Third of all, I think the replay was enough to thoroughly convince all watching that it was a knock-down, I don't think Jim Lampley doing literally nothing from a commentating stand-point for the next 4 and a half minutes but shriek over and over again "It was a knock-down!" was entirely necessary. Lampley was so blinded by his fury towards Jay Nady he failed to see the blatant foul committed by Barrera and only seems to grudgingly admit it happened at all when Merchant and Steward point it out to him, which is just about the only time anybody says **** about the foul at all. A fact I find surprising considering how flagrant the foul was. Pretty much just everybody sucking at their jobs here at the end of this round.
Should have been called a knockdown. Should have been deducted a point. a 10/9 or 9/8 round to Marquez...something along those lines. Instead it was a 10/8.
Should have been called a knockdown and if NAdy was doing a good job Barrera would not have thrown that sucker punch but since he did, he should have been deducted.
Lampley didn't say anything about the foul comitted by MAB, but I do recall him going BALLISTIC over Margarito grazing Cotto's head while Margarito was finishing his combination. Lampley is a joke.
Point deduction, kind of like when Pacquiao hit the same Marquez we speak of when he was already down. :think Double standards eh?
It's mind-boggling. He acts like it never happened until the others tell him it did, like he's just hoping no one saw it. Barrera took several steps towards the downed Marquez and even continued in throwing the punch after Nady grabbed his arm. The ****, dude?
Lampley: "It was not ruled a knock-down, but replays show it clearly was." This is round 11 now. Round 11 and he still won't shut the **** up about it.
:yep Barrera was really a shadow by this point unfortunately, he didn't lose the fight as a result of the point deduction, he lost it because he was in no position to go 12 hard rounds with a fighter of Marquez's caliber. Not at that point. He was really tired towards the end. I don't know why there wasn't a rematch, but I don't think there was really any need for it. Barrera was on his way out, Marquez was just starting to become a player.
Well, yeah, Barrera likely would have just lost more clearly in a rematch being older. But the fight seemed good enough and close enough to warrant one. Marquez even expressed interest in one. Very impressive performance by Barrera considering his ring-wear, seemed to turn back the clock in this one, though he did fatigue a bit at the end. Oh, and **** this Doug Tucker *****-bag. Two rounds for Barrera? What a sack of jism.
Well, the reason Nady called a foul on barrera was because JMM was in fact down when MAB hit him so he clearly saw what happened... So therefore he should've counted it as a knockdown but for whatever reason he ignored it and instead went about the business of reprimanding Barrera.
Maybe there is somethings wrong with Marquez? Its his fault ... the guys who are going down are usually going down not they are pretending to still being OK while they are hurt ... that is a double standard.
