Now that we've seen how easy that was for Pac, ofcourse you'll get Yes for an answer. Now pretend that the fight was made that same time (JMM vs DLH). Im sure more people would laugh at it.

Marquez would struggle to be honest.

He isn't aggressive enough nor does he have the rapid movement to make Oscar look stupid like Pacquiao did. Nor does he have the raw power, speed and movement to totally dominate Hatton.

Marquez has also gotten hit a whole lot more as he has come up in weight, the fight with Diaz shows that a bigger stronger Hatton would give him a lot of issues although Hatton doesn't put his punches together anywhere near as effectively as Diaz.

    Both would be close fights.

    No. No. NO.

    One reason: SPEED.

    DE LA HOYA
The reason why Pac was able to beat DLH so convincingly was because of his SPEED. DLH was getting beaten to the punch everytime to the point where he stopped throwing punches all together. Would Marquez beat DLH to the punch. I don't think so.

Proof of this can be taken from the fact that when Oscar and his corner threw in the towel his corner said:
'There's no point carrying on....HE'S JUST TOO FAST!'

    HATTON
Again the reason Pac won this fight was because of his speed. Hatton couldn't see the punches coming or predict the angles.

Hopkins spoke to Hatton 10 minutes after the fight and said Hatton didn't see the punch and still had no idea what hit him.

Marquez, while not being as slow as a Carl Froch is not exactly the speediest of punchers. Add to that the fact he was knocked down 4 times (5 if you count the point where he was holding onto the ropes for dear life and wandered to the wrong corner) and the fact he was beaten by Chris John.

Yes:good. In his last 3 fights he has also defeated a better standard of opposition than Pac's last 3, IMO. Face facts, JMM won the second Pacman fight.

Hatton was prime, you and I both know no version of Hatton would have beaten Pacquaio. Hatton just stepped into the ring with 2 elite fighters.

No need to take away credit from Pac for beating a fighter who is not in his class.

DLH obviously not prime, but everyone knew that anyway.

Facing facts would be admiting that officially pac won that fight. That is a fact.

The rest is just opinions. In my opinion Marquez put up a good fight but you don't win fights by doing that, you win fights by dominating and Marquez has never been able to hurt Pac let alone dominate him. Pac had Marquez blobbing all over the ring many times in their fights.

Also take into account we haven't even seen Marquez fight at 140. Pac is a freak of nature in that he can carry his speed and power up the weight classes due to his huge leg muscles.

I think it's a bit naive to think Marquez can do the same. Previous fighters coming up in weight (apart from Pac) says Marquez will be slower and more sluggish.

So no I do not think Marquez beats DLH or HATTON, although as Marquez is such an intelligent fighter I wouldn't count him out.

    See below:good.

:goodEqually pertinent points but I am entitled to my opinion all the same and I'm not looking for an arguement. As for 'getting owned' I actually have a good record at picking fights. Look here, good sir: http://boxpicks.com/index.php?mode=userinfo&uid=8887 That said, Agbeko did own my ass!:patsch
