c'mon, hatton outweighed pac by 4 lbs. [152 vs. 148]. look what happened. :deal

if pac tried to match hatton's weight by coming in @150+, things could've been different as pac would've been sluggish and slow in that fight.

putting on fighting weight is a slow process. even pac has been fighting in the 147-148 range for 2 1/2 years now.

Hatton's loss has nothing to do w/ his weight. As a matter of fact, that has been his ideal weight from the past fights. His loss can be attributed to his lack of defensive skill. Floyd won't do a Hatton. He's one of the best defensive fighters in boxing. He will come out heavier than JMM who is fighting in an unfamiliar weight class. Pac's case is different. He's been fighting from l40-145 in his last 4 fights.

yeah. i know. i'm just saying that coming in 4-5 pounds lighter than your opponent is not that much of a disadvantage. that's why i made as an example pac being 4 lbs. lighter than hatton.

jmm therefore shouldn't try to get as close to the fighting weight of mayweather as possible. he could come in 4-5 lbs. lighter and still be very competitive. what is more impt. is that jmm retains his speed, movement and reflexes so he can match mayweather's. gaining too much fighting weight in his very next fight could be very detrimental to him. in contrast, pac has only gained about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds in fighting weight for the past 2 1/2 years.

I just ignore *******s. They think clinging onto the P4P 1 is some kind of achievement. Nothing they say bears any kind of relevance to boxing as a whole, or indeed makes any sense.

Diaz pillow punches?, you must be exaggerrating here. Diaz might not have one punch KO but he hits hard and relies more on accumulation rather than single punch power. He hurt Marquez but Marquez is known to get hurt anyway and always comes back from it.

Cool, his english is pretty decent. Nice to see he's making himself more marketable.

I kind of agree that he shouldn't try to match PBF's weight, it might slow him down. And I doubt PBF will try to overpower JMM anyway so I'm thinking something like 145 should be ok since PBF doesn't seem to weigh much over 147 at fight night and he is a bit small for a WW.

Man, I hope JMM pulls it off, then we can have Pac vs JMM 3! Unfinished business for both Pac and JMM fans.

I'm starting to feel more and more that Marquez might be able to pull this one off?

I'd also say he'll come in at around 143lb. He also has some hidden power, Floyd won't like that right uppercut if it lands!

It's styles bro... Floyd don't apply pressure like Diaz.
That said, what happened to diaz in the end. (Plus who knows if Floyd can even take what Diaz did?)

Marquez is making big money fighting Floyd...money he should've been earning with Pac, and size will not be the difference in this fight. Skills will be the difference, and I expect Marquez to give Floyd all he can handle before losing.
