Nobody knows how the incentives and upside works with his Showtime deal, but if he were making this fight later in the year under his former independent business model, he'd probably make at least $65 Million off of this single fight. With the Pacquiao thing it would've been a different story, with a large percentage going to Bob's side. With GBP, everything is kept all in the family and fights are easier than **** to get finalized. He doesn't have any reason for it not to get done aside from the obvious: Alvarez is a Light Heavyweight in the ring.

Nobody should underestimate how enormous Mayweather-Alvarez would be. If'd be an absolute circus.

this would be a mega fight because u got people saying canelo can beat floyd. in a lot of people eyes this is a 50/50 fight. when is the last floyd had a 50/50 fight?

 

And still make more money thanks to the premiums of hosting it at the most prestigious casino-hotel in the western hemisphere. Gotta say though, seeing the Alamodome packed for a boxing event was pretty ****in awesome last Saturday. It was an imposing and electric atmosphere. A crushing counter right hand to the jaw of the notion that boxing is dead.

 

GBP and TR are moving Canelo vs TBD and Marquez/Bradley from Sept.14 since Floyd already has the distributors on lock, apparently.

May vs Canelo, that's the fight.

These fights are big enough that it's disrespectful to all four to allow it to happen.

 

Wasn't Chavez vs Martinez 2 scheduled for that date too, assuming both win?

Chavez/Martinez will do better numbers than Marquez/Bradley but it might be a good competition to Canelo/Cotto. Now if they make the Canelo/Mayweather, it will very hard to top that. Mayweather vs anyother will do **** numbers if it goes up against Marquez/Bradley, Canelo/Cotto or Martinez/Chavez Jr (assuming they do fight).

 

Mayweather and Canelo in seperate bouts... Maybe Bob Arum tries to match that card by adding Martinez v Chavez II (or just Chavez).

Mayweather v Canelo is not happening this year, a fight of that magnitude needs more time... May 3rd of next year is when it would go down.

Arum told me Bradley-Marquez terms are now agreed to on both sides. Contracts out to both for 9/14 OR in October if Floyd goes 9/14. #boxing

Very peculiar to delete my thread, but okay.

Canelo's since come out and declared the 14th is his date.

 

GBP requested the 9/14 Date with Nevada Athletic Association way back on December 6th. They also secured the MGM Grand for that night as well.

Top Rank just recently put in a request for that date at the Mack.
