Damn, September looks like it's going to be stacked. Someone is obviously going to have to move their fight from the 14th, though. Canelo vs. TBD (Cotto), Mayweather vs. TBD (Devon Alexander lol), possible Sergio Martinez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and Bradley vs. Marquez. Would be a damn good September if all these fights happen then.

As it's been said, Arum's backing off the date if Floyd is fighting. He didn't say if Canelo is fighting though... Mayweather has said it was his date, Keizer said the date and venue was booked for Floyd back in December last year. If Floyd is fighting twice this year that's his date. Wonder if Canelo will be willing to fight on Floyd's card this time, or not fight at all on that date again...?

It is Mayweathers date and nobody can do anything about it. If Floyd says he is fighting that night that is what will happen. Canelo and Arums will just have to find another date

 Ginger is feeling himself. He better try and get Floyd in the ring or be willing to be a co-feature. If Mayweather fights it's his date, he's not budging.. And we've seen Canelo will budge on the date..

--"We've had this date [of September 14th] on hold for a long time for Floyd Mayweather. The MGM has confirmed the date for us as did the pay-per-view industry" Schaefer told the scene.

Kizer confirms that Schaefer requested the date for Mayweather on December 6th. The MGM Grand was also placed on hold in the same time period.--

    Things should get interesting.

I wish we could get all 3, but unless floyd has a very easy time with Guerrero, he will not fight a mega fight on Sept. Too soon. Im looking foward to Marquez-Bradley. I hope they don't postpone it

Dan Rafael claims Arum said he'll move the Marquez-Bradley fight to October if Mayweather fights on the September date. Also Pac vs Alvarado/Rios in Asia in the fall.

well if floyd were to step up and fight sergio then september 14 would be his "date."

canelo had his opportunity to burn floyd by having the trout fight on ppv on may 4th which wouldve been a real kick in floyds ass.

i think everyone will agree that floyd, who wants to fight alexander, angulo( a great big wtf?) and maidana shows that he still believes that he can sell ice(bull**** fights) to eskimos(*****s) and still get away with it.

They should, because isn't it officially Golden Boy's date? 'For Floyd' can be subject to change and I don't see Oscar catering to Floyd over his emerging house fighter with whom he gets the full pie rather than a slice. Canelo has gradually fought for and gained more and more pull. From demanding a guarantee for a September fight with Mayweather, to pulling himself off Floyd's May card, to pushing GBP into making a fight Austin Trout to beating Austin Trout in what was an electric atmosphere in a huge venue. Now this is the latest...A fight with Miguel Cotto likely outsells Mayweather-Alexander by a good margin. Oh, and then there will be an issue over purse splits. It's snowballing, almost.

Golden Boy is not naive, Floyd is still the top priority even if he's not locked in the way Alvarez is. What happened here in all likelihood is that Golden Boy used Floyd's name to secure the date but told Alvarez it was his since Floyd was probably only ever going to fight once this year. Indeed, Top Rank calling that bluff is maybe the one thing that makes it more likely simply for reasons of animosity and pettiness. And I seriously doubt Canelo-Cotto would beat Mayweather-Alexander, never mind by a good margin.

Floy has top billing over Canelo Richard has been clear about that. Mayweather vs Garcia would do way better numbers than Canelo vs Cotto

    Fair enough.

I'm sure plenty of people will also pick Cotto to beat Alvarez. I'm personally done getting burned by underestimating him. No mas.

Floyd is fighting his last "May Day" & September belongs to Canelo.
