I'm not sure Canelo-Cotto outsells a Mayweather fight without Cotto beating a legit challenger. He's lost his last two, Canelo beating the dude who just beat him. It will sell because both fighters can bring in good numbers, but not really smart to make it after Cotto lost twice. Only thing with that is who would Canelo fight in September if not Floyd or Cotto, and who would Cotto fight to regain confidence and the fans belief in him? :think

If Floyd fights I really believe it's his day. I just don't see him moving off the date, especially for a potential future opponent. Floyd's ego is too big. But I have no clue who he'd fight either, as I don't see any real opponents out there except Canelo.. I can't find 5 other fights for Floyd at 147/154 that will do the numbers he likes...

I don't know but unless they're fighting each other they better not fight on the same date unless it's on the same card and JMM/Bradley is nudged back to October.

Arum already said 100% if Floyd fights on that date he will move it.

I'm not sure it'll even matter (re: Cotto's losses). Canelo's hype, the name recognition of both, Mexico-Puerto Rico and it being on the holiday are all enough to sell the damn thing. Cotto seems ready to cash out, and Oscar talks about it as if he's already spoken to him at length. He packed the MGM (were there any $10 tickets? ) and set SHO network records fighting the super formidable light welter Josesito Lopez the same night Arum was staging Chavez Jr-Martinez across town.

Who knows how much Floyd cares about PPV numbers anymore with all of his guaranteed bank. Makes me wonder though if SHO wrote in clause(s) that allow them to decline opponents they don't approve of.

If Garcia drops Judah in dramatic fashion, he would move to 26-0 and still be considered the best at 140. The build up would be great with Angel, but would GBP and Haymon risk that?

A loss to Mayweather for any young GBP/Haymon star shouldn't hurt them too much.
