I think the way they're training is not really affecting his speed, so what's the point of being lighter if you can be just as fast but stronger if you gain weight right? The only real concern for Marquez (in my very humble opinion) is stamina, not speed. There are ways to gain weight without losing speed and gainning strenght, but it always takes the body a while to adjust to the higher oxygen demand from the muscles when the get bigger.
He's moving up near enough 2 weight divisions abit of bulk is to be expected. All that talk about ped use is ridiculous though he's not turned hulk over night he's had a prolonged period to prepare for this fight and despite his legs maybe looking thin im sure he's trained accordingly.
This message is hidden because Boxing Fanatic is on your ignore list. Any money its a stupid and worthless post.
they Say they've concentrated on getting "heavier" this time without losing any speed and such. I hope they are right. This could be one fookin' hell of a fight.
If he has gone about putting on the weight properly then he's not just bulking up... he's building lean, dense muscle. Which is different from what he did in the Floyd fight. In the Floyd fight he just bulked up and didn't apply the correct conditioning and nutrition to ensure he wouldn't lose speed, power and stamina. I think JMM needs BOTH....size and speed to beat PAC. If he just had speed...at best he's still be a tad slower than Manny...but wouldn't be able to take the shots from a bigger man. JMM needs to be fast and durable to have a chance in this fight and the man looks like he's ready. I'm not convinced that he ends up beating Manny though. I see this as a one sided affair.
Yeah, I hope that's what they manage to achieve. He normally weighs 145 on fight night, and so they're probably having be a more effective 145 with more muscle weight.
JMM is doomed regardless what he does. Bulking up will make no difference although his trainer who was part of Marion Jones steroid situation may have addded a few twists and turns into his training. Fernando Vargas didn't do much when he was roided up against Oscar De La Hoya. Pacman is a much better, stronger and better all around fighter. JMM will realize that very early. The added muscle natural or not will not have an effect on the outcome. Pacquiao by TK0 in rounds 5-9. Later Marquez!
Guess what I find funny? Dumbasses acting like they know the first thing about performance enhancing drugs. What do you think he's taking, what do you think he might be ingesting or injecting and what are the physiological effects? You have no clue, now STFU :good
