This. Doesn't matter about any other fighters or any other sports. Two questions here: 1) Do the rules permit anything but water to drink during the fight and if not 2) Why are these rules not enforced like they are in other sports.
Again, fighters are allowed to drink "Only plain water or approved electrolyte drinks may be given to a boxer in the course of the contest. For the purpose of this paragraph, approved electrolyte drinks shall mean common sports drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade, Accelerade, Cytomax, and G Push, or any other sports drink not expressly prohibited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC)". What rule do you think isn't being enforced?
I genuinely wasn't sure of the rules in this area but thanks for clearing it up. I was thinking of the Pryor bottle incident but the rules must have been updated to include new isotonic drinks. The bit I'm sceptical about is boxing enforcing the rules. It doesn't really have a history of doing so, hence the hesitation.
To be honest when I saw it I thought "is he drinking ****?" Then I thought why would anyone do that then I remembered oh wait Marquez does drink his own ****
The best part is after Manny smashes Rios he will be relevant and Marquez will be gone, kaput, retired after SD 12... So I feel fine... how do you feel?
While Marquez fans are fine with a close decision loss to Bradley, poor *******s still cant deal with KTFO6! :bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb Btw, Gatorade and Pedialyte type liquids have been legal in Vegas since DLH fought Vargas eons ago.
i noticed that it was not water either.. either way it did not help much but i was also under the impression only water is allowed
