Roach is saying there's no agreement with Maidana and Golden Boy have postponed purse bids for two weeks. The Marquez fight is on the table. I would put the article up but not getting banned again

Serious display of balls from Khan if he takes the fight!! I wonder who Losfer would support? :hey:think

    JMM all day every day:deal:lol:.

If Khan did take the fight and win then I'd give him his props, though, as it would be a world-class name for the record. Thing is, at 140, I would think that the fight would favour Khan anyway. If Khan could keep the fight at range using his far longer reach and also opted to throw his fast combos whilst darting in and out, I don't see what his awesomeness, Mr JMM, could do about it:?:-(.

    Stay at 135 PLEEEEEASE, JMM!!!

Roach is saying he said yes to Marquez and no to Maidana because he feels the Maidana fight needs time to be hyped up and the money won't be enough for the risk so he's told Amir to not fight him.

Thing is, mate, Roach likes to think he is a promoter and manager when he isn't. What he 'wants' doesn't mean **** in the grand scheme of things.

Nah very true. Just letting people know what's being said that's all. Roach to involved for my liking.

Agreed:good. Roach needs to stick to the pads and what he's good at rather than act like he's a negotiator or something. TBH, I think JMM-Khan is a crap fight considering the other fights that both could make at this point in time. The only thing that would interest me in this fight is if Khan were to fight JMM at 135, but I also think that it wouldn't happen.

    Really hope this doesn't happen.

Thing is for me i don't see Maidana as type to have a long reign. He's a banger but how long do they wanna hype this fight for...it has to be soon imo because i don't see Maidana being a long reigning champion.

I'm worried about the use of the word 'hype' at the moment as it seems to translate as 'until Maidana loses' / 'let's see how long we can put the fight off for'. When Maidana faces a boxer who won't fight his fight, he'll lose, IMO. I would be very disappointed if the fight isn't made between Khan and Maidana next as it's a perfect fight for introduction to the States on a big undercard, and would also make for an intriguing fight which could give Khan a chance to dispell the Prescott demons. I really hope Khan does take the fight and the last day's worth of quotes aren't too much to worry about. Other than Schaefer's comments today, the fight is being reported as on everywhere else:think.

If Maidana doesn't agree to sidestep...it will go to the pursebids?

I agree Losfer. Maidana won against Ortiz but Ortiz could of boxed his ears off if he used his brain. I like Maidana and wanna see the fight but i sense what you said...put the fight off till he loses...not to keen on that sorta thing.

The thing is if Maidana does not back down, Khan will fight him because he dont want to give up his belt. But a name like JMM could tempt Khan into dropping the belt to fight a much bigger name like JMM where the Mexicans will go mad in the U.S and Mexico.

I still think Khan Maidana will happen, GBP are just giving options for bigger money fights.

I think it would be the perfect fight for Khan, It would be a test of course, but it'd be a much more sensible fight than fighting Maidana !!

It would be a good warm up and confidence builder before he fought Maidana !!

A fighter that puts on pressure, but not too much of it !!

And Khan has got all the skills and power to get the job done in style !!

Maidanas too much of an animal for Khan to be dealing with, as much of a big puncher and class act JMM is, he is a very technical thinking type fighter that is pretty easy to predict & time - if you got a style like Khan where you can box and move !!
