Why not? Just watch all of his recent fights and he's been in many wars and has gotten alot of punishment, health should come first to him since he already has enough money.

A really big factor in his getting the KO in the 4th fight was his determination in that fight. He was eating a lot of shots in the 5th and 6th rounds and to be able to take those punches without going into defensive mode like other fighters Pac face just to wait for the perfect opening to land that counter was a massive display of guts. It took a lot of heart and willpower to execute a game plan like that and honestly, now that he's been vindicated with that stunning win, I'm sure he won't be as driven if ever they fight a 5th time.

I'd understand why he wouldn't be jumping at the opportunity of another big pay day to fight Pac a 5th time. I'm not saying Marquez would lose because he'd still have a good shot of repeating the results of the 4th fight, but I think now Marquez will be more aware of the risks he's taking against a deadly opponent like Pac.

i hope jmm retires he has nothin to prove an it was a great win but in what world is it 4 0 that is just your opinion i have it 2 2 the boxing records have it 2 1 1 so saying 4 0 is proof enough is stupid.

Hope he retires. He's nearly 40 and had a long career. This is a great win to retire off, and he has nothing to prove.

He has nothing else to prove, he has accomplished what he has always wanted for a very long time in a devastating spectacular fashion and has a legendary career. Calling it a day would be just fine. He has secured his legacy.

He will fight again, boxers never seem to know when to hang it up. If I was him though I would call it unless somehow he can get a rematch with Mayweather for one last big payday.

No need for a rematch. He knocked him out cold. Pacquiao should really start feasting on some bums to get the hype back up since he has looked bad since his last 5 fights or so.

LOL at dominating Marquez. The fight was close at the point of the ko, and yes Pac was pulling slighly ahead. That was however due in part to Juans strategy of sitting down on his punches to get the ko which means less mobility and to increasing the chances of recieving more punches as well.

I wouldnt blame him one bit..... to be able to go out the way he did like that, it is stuff of dreams. Retire with your health, biggest win ever that he could have, and wow. Cant beat that.

But as a boxing fan.... Daaaamn Id love to see Marquez take Garcias 0, and then fight Matthysse or Rios.

Those are fight that literally just get me pumped even thinking about them  Would love to see Marquez take Garcias 0 though.... damn.

That exactly gets me greatly excited as well.... fighting guys like Garcia and Matthysse and Rios is just not great for your long term health though especially after a grueling fight with Pac.

My god though he would have a field day with Rios .... not sure if Rios would understand what hit him when its all over.

If JMM doesn't fight Pac again.. Id like to see him fight Bradley @ 147, Garcia @ 140 or Broner @ 140.. All good fights.. Or Void @ 147!

Hope he retires, or at most, has one more fight.

Marquez is my favorite fighter. Watching him box is truly watching boxing at its highest echelon...a pure work of art.

The same way you can watch someone like Hopkins literally thinking and setting traps in the ring, you can watch JMM making adjustments, perfectly positioning his body and his punches for a full-on assault. He's had more masterful performances than can be counted, and I think he should leave it as-is.

He may've surpassed Morales and MAB at this point, and arguably is the greatest Mexican to step in the ring...or at least in the top 5...

I hope he doesn't retire he's one of my all time favourite fighters ever.
He's still got more than enough to destroy all these young *******s coming up the divisions who deludedly think they can whoop Juan. I'm talking about Rios, Broner, Khan, Garcia, Bradley and anyone else in the world for that matter at 140-147

The things this man can do in a boxing ring are just superb. Why would I wanna see him go?
