Pbf beats any version of Pac he's always been a stylistic nightmare for him and I've been saying it for years.

Slower, less rangy fighters like JMM rely on counters to deal with faster fighters like Pac. With Floyd, counters would be just ONE aspect of the fight. He wouldn't take as many chances because he would not have to.

Floyd uses jabs and straight rights to the body to control distance early, and only attempts to counter when Pac starts becoming unraveled and reckless. That's how I see the fight going.

Marquez has very good lateral movement that is better than manny's. Why wasn't it effective when he fought Mayweather?

I found Marquez was able to land on manny, even with his right hand, when he didn't have lead foot positioning. The first right hand he lands on manny in the fourth fight or the straight right he lands downstairs at the end of the second round are examples.

Marquez would take a straight step or two back, something Floyd is capable of, to make manny's left miss or take the sting off of it. He did this when manny had lead foot positioning. Floyd can fire back at manny after doing this simple move.

manny tries to escape towards his left after firing his left putting him in the cross-hair of a right hand.

Marquez had other lines of defense that still worked without lead foot positioning. He could slip outside the left or duck under it.

Putting the foot on the outside isn't the end all to defense against southpaws as Marquez demonstrated last Saturday.

It's over, dude. I don't like triangle theories, but I don't think Manny would've beaten Floyd.

Just wanted to add that Zab's left is more compact and traditional. Pac almost always does that Jermaine Taylor bow and arrow thing before unleashing his 1-2. Floyd, I believe, would take Manny's power left away and relegate him to throwing showy, jab-like straights.

People want to take pac over Floyd is obviously betting with their hearts and not with their brain. Floyd is clearly better than JMM in literally every area except maybe power? Floyd even got a better chin.

On Floyd's worse day, Pac have a puncher's chance.
Floyd's A game = embrassing defeat for Pac.

Pac was lunging face first against JMM...ultimately his demise.

Against a longer taller Floyd he no doubt will do the same....again it will be his demise.

Floyd wins this more often than not

A good jab can disrupt Manny's rhythm easily. He may counter over it a few times, but the more you throw it the more cautious he becomes at fighting at a slow pace. I think Manny's movement would definitely bother Floyd in the early rounds, but he would eventually find a way to make adjustments and get to Manny. You can't keep doing the same thing over and over and not expect a boxer of Floyd's caliber to not figure out a way to neutralize your offense. Manny is a great fighter, but he's not that disciplined. Flat-footed or not, Floyd is disciplined enough to neutralized Manny's offense.

How the hell is it over? :huh The fight hasn't happened and Pacquiao looked far from done. It's less over than it was a year ago when I made this thread.

You can land a right with your foot inside, but you either have to be on the inside, which JMM often does since he's of similar size and ducks low as Pac falls in on him, or you can be to the complete other side of your opponent, which rarely happens but is possible. Floyd uses his upper body more than he does a backpedal, and the key is to offset him with feints so that he doesn't know when to roll and gets on the defensive. He's less prone to throwing shots that he think might miss.

Floyd is good at stepping forward and widening his stance to land his right in the right position (Ortiz), but I don't think Manny's feints and quick steps would allow Floyd that angle early in the fight. If Floyd counters over Manny's left a lot early and Manny becomes hesitant and chooses not to throw leads for whatever reason and stops feinting, then Floyd opens up that opportunity.

A jab without stepping leftwards gets you where Cotto ended up and where JMM ended up in the 5th round. Floyd can be as disciplined as he want, he can't do everything there ever was, and he should have circled the likes of DLH and Cotto with consistent jabs pumped out as he circled, but he gave up the center again.

I would still love to see the fight. I think Manny can bounce back where he left off and *******s thinks he can bounce back and KO Floyd so we'll see. Hopefully it gets made. When floyd beats Manny i would hope the Tards give him his due.

This fight will now only happen if team Pacquiao comes crawling at Floyd and accepting his every demands, and there's no way they'll do that even though they don't have any leverage anymore.

Again, you're giving Manny too much credit. He may counter Floyd a few times, but at the same time I've seen enough times where Pac was forced to backed up in a straight line when his opponents threw double-jabs. Bradley walked up to Manny a few times in a straight line by simply throwing multiple jabs, but he just wasn't accurate enough of landing anything else even when he had Manny on the ropes.

I've said this as well the difference in reach would be huge. Pac would lunge in on PBF and lunging in on a counter puncher like PBF would lead to you getting KOEd. PBF beats the **** outta pac and stops him. PBF by KO.:deal

Re-watching the Bradley fight had me thinking Manny's chances were far reduced. Whenever Bradley backed Manny up, he started measuring Manny up PBF-style and throwing quick shots to the head and body. But that was Manny fighting 30 seconds a round. If he fight like he did against JMM, he won't be caught like that. JMM and Cotto both got caught with that left hand when they stepped in with theirs. Besides, Floyd doesn't really throw double jabs. It's those moments early that Manny has the time to set the tone of the fight and go into the second with a possible lead.

Plus, Team Pac has been moving closer and closer to accepting more of his demands. 2013 is probably his last year in the game, and he's going to want to fight Floyd before hanging them up for good.
