 wtf, it aint cheating in boxing. it's taking advantage of your skills and intelligence. it aint a gentleman's sport. go watch golf if you like that boring ****. pac running away from tests should be considered more of a cheat than any of these tactics.

Yup, so a fighter should walk in the ring with a razorblade stuck in his gloves, because after all "if you don't get caught it's not cheating"

    Disgusting people.

When Marquez was about to fight Casamayor, I was a little worried Casa could give him problems for the simple reason that I had never seen Marquez fall into clinches.

My thinking was, how is Marquez going to handle the situation if Casa choses to stay up close, tie up, and use dirty tactics like Casamayor liked to do????

Lo and behold, there is something about how Marquez navigates a ring that its extremely difficult to get a hold of a clinch on him.

Marquez does these slippery and slick manuevers within the confines of infighting that dont allow for his opponent to grasp and hold him.

Its those short crisp uppercuts he throws on the inside that take away any thought of an opponent to clinch on Marquez.

On the defensive side, I say its always a plus if you know how to grasp and hold to survive a scare. Marquez from what I can remember has never employed those techniques.
His physical conditioning has always been so superior that he's gotten himself out of trouble by simply being in tremendous shape and being able to get his legs back quickly.

So far, the times he's been in trouble have been very early in fights where he has'nt exherted alot of energy and his legs have been relatively fresh to be able to recuperate quickly.
Now if Marquez were to get hurt badly late in a fight, it might be a good idea to be able to employ some stalling techniques like clinching, so yes, its probably that the clinching aspect of boxing may be one of Marquez' weak spots.

Btw, the same thing can be said of Manny Pacquiao. When have we ever seen him fall into clinches?

How lucky we have been to see those two do battle against eachother without having to see them fall into clinches everytime a solid blow is landed.

I cant recall one damn time either of them attempted to clinch the other in their 36 rounds of boxing! :deal HAHA!:yep:bbb:bbb:bbb

Always loved the way Marquez can keep his cool in dangerous situations. It's this that gets him out of trouble and back in the fight after a big punch or knockdown. He won't back up and will exchange with his opponent and by staying calm and collected is able to pick and aim his shots, while other fighters end up throwing wildly out of panic. This is particularly effective because his opponent will get excited and be trying to rush in for the kill and leave himself vulnerable to getting countered, at least enough for Marquez to regain full control of himself.

Great point I was just going to write that. It's so hard to get on the inside with Pac because of his footwork, speed and power. Bradley and Hatton were both very skillful on the inside but they were completely unable to use their tactics against Pac. Bradley addapted better than Hatton because he probably learned from his mistakes. I really wonder how a match up between Chavez Sr and Pac would have gone

    Pacquiao would have gotten massacred!
Chavez' right hand is money, and he was known to back you up doubling and tripling up on the right hand before shooting a left hook to the sides and midsection.
Unlike the fighters Pacquiao dominated north of 130 lbs, Chavez had a way to set his punches up while landing the right hand first and parrying off shots to get his hook to the liver placed clean and hard. He would go either way, use the jab or right hand to initiate. Pacquiao is known to diffuse fighters left hand happy. Against Chavez, he'd be out of his element.
Too much chin, and too much know how from JC Chavez, I dont think Pacquiao even puts a dent on him.

You dont know **** about boxing. If chavez was able to survive Pac for 12 rounds he probably would of gotten another gift like he has through out his entire career.
