"Even though Bradley is a great boxer, and he has skills, he needs the power. He (doesn't) have that power. Pacquiao has the speed and Pacquiao has the power. The difference in this fight is power. The difference will be the power punches that Pacquiao has."
:deal i have that much faith in marquez's opinion i suddenly backflipped on the idea that bradley could beat pac (i gave him a 30 - 40 percent chance but now its around 10)
What Marquez means is that he needs to train Timmy in order for him box more beautifully, time more and accurately counter Pac. Or, Marqy just want to say, "**** off Timmy, I should have been the one fighting Pac, in Mexico. If Pac wins again, The Mexican mob will surely get the KO for me. Remember Argentina"
noticed that jmm emphasized the power of pacquiao. that's why in the third fight he avoided long engagement with pac to avoided kissing the canvass. he may have wanted to ko pac but runs the risk of being ko'd himself if he stayed too long in front of pac. he knows also that pac can take a good punch because jmm hit pac good in the 2nd fight but did not go down, but when pac hit him jmm went down. fortunately for jmm the round was about to end.
I don't think you need power to beat Pac. JMM certainly didn't need it. Granted, Bradley isn't JMM, but still.
He's saying Braddly needs the power, because he clearly doesn't have the skill to beat Pac, but he could have just as easily say Bradley doesn't have the skill and/or power to beat Pacman like he did.
Yeah, I get that. But where he doesn't have the skill, he's got the awkwardness/style to make things difficult.
