Marquez face more bruised than Pacquiao's

Well I wish people would just be consistent. A lot of people were using the compubox to point out Floyd dominating Ortiz and saying his eye was nearly shut from Floyd's right hands (which it wasn't). But if compubox shows Pac as the winner it's corrupt. In the end, certain people will use anything to justify their own opinion.

 

At equal power, Pac's punches have a bigger effect on Marquez than vice-versa. Pac just takes a shot better than Marquez in general. Something you need to take into account when scoring is how much of an effect the shots have on the opponent.

The bruising isn't really indicative of that. But it does show that the idiots who say Pac didn't land anything need to stfu. He obviously landed a good share of shots. You don't bruise a guy's whole face by missing all your punches.

One thing that makes your point obvious is that even the fans who have Marquez winning don't agree on which rounds he won or lost. Go through the scorecards of a dozen people who had Marquez winning and you'll see Pacquiao winning all sorts of different rounds.

I was expecting a thriller, but thought Pac would knock him out late... but JMM was in better shape than I expected, and Pac has lost the relentlessness of his youth. IMO it was still a great fight.
