It was a nice punch that genuinely hurt him, but as he was going down it seemed like he was thinking "**** this. I'm just gonna lay down and close my eyes. Ain't worth a 10-round beating for ****."

Kind of strange he'd be paid to take a dive when Marquez wanted to get rounds in. It looked weird, but that shot landed right on the button.

The dude knew he didnt have a chance..why prolong the agony? It was a good punch followed by very bad acting imo..

I don't think anyone will be suggesting JMM paid him to take a dive, because, as you say, it wouldn't make sense for JMM to **** up his own warm-up fight.

But I can't help but feel the guy took the easy way out, and stayed down to avoid a beating for 5-10 legit rounds.

It looked real strange, but he didn't taste anything dangerous until that right hand, and it doesn't make sense for his train of thought to go: gets hit in the mouth in the first real shot of the night, decides on the way down that he wants no part of it, and simultaneously concocts a plot to make it look like a real KO punch and plays dead like a pet dog.

It's just too much of a plan to be a spontaneous "I don't want none of this" quittage.

I guess this might be Arum's way of saying JMM is still strong and dangerous so that it doesn't look like Team Pac is cherry-picking. But the problem with that is we didn't learn anything other than the fact that Ramos has a glass jaw. And it's unlikely that Ramos closed his eyes and pretended to sleep because I would think it's more embarrassing to be KTFO than to stay down for a 10 count.

Whatever though. It's not like JMM needed this fight anyway. And he certainly came out injury-free. That's all folks. See you in November.

Lol, no, I wasn't suggesting he had this exact plan going in to the fight of being hit square in the mouth by a right, and staying down from it.

More like....."When the going gets tough, I'll just take the easy way out. No point me prolonging a beating". But before he knew it, he was hit with a peach of a shot within the first minute, which maybe brought up his planning of quitting sooner than he would have thought.

But like I've already said somewhere else, it doesn't bother me. I'm a Pacquiao fan and I'm glad to see JMM gain very little from this warm-up, legit knockdown or not.
