No point in arguing. People seem to think that getting hit, staggering in attempt to keep balance then breaking your fall, followed by squeezing the eyes shut (as in out cold) and laying dead is absolutely normal. it seems like a bad acting job from a Rocky movie. I realize people want to believe what they want to believe. They want to be hyped for the Pac - Marquez fight, or simply want to be really hyped about Marquez winning, and want to believe this was some sort of an amazing one punch knockout (ala Pac - Hatton). Nice punch and legit knock down, no doubt. But the guy was in there for an easy night's pay.

Most common scenarios of when boxers are ko'd cold. They are out before they hit the canvas and are stiff and land rough and hard (that means no breaking the fall) if momentum has them going backwards, and usually they ban their head. The other common one is they are out on their feet, eat a few more good punches and slump over and fall face first (recent Jones ko) if being held up by the ropes or if they are leaning in when they are ko'd.

Actually there is a mixture of posters who think the KO was'nt legit........

......personally I myself dont even think Marquez landed a great shot.

It was good and solid to have knocked down Likar, but I cant point the finger that the fight was fixed by anyone as Likar did have his chin up in the air fully exposed.

......also I noticed that when Likar opened his eyes and was alert, he swung his gloves around as if he was bothered that he was on the ground.

I will say this however, I dont believe any Marquez fans here are hyping this as some kind of fabulous scintillating KO.
It likely was just a good shot from a great fighter that knocked out a subpar tuneup type of guy.
No shock here from anyone that followed this sport long enough.

Its too bad for the fans that David Diaz overpriced himself out of this fight, as In that fight I would have expected Diaz to give Marquez some rounds before Marquez short circuited David Diaz and knock him out in the fashion he knocked out Juan Diaz.

In the first round one is cold, the adriniline is not at it's normal high level...one gets cold konked.
    Happens all the time.

I think every guy who gets in the ring against some one like that wants to at least earn some respect,

Not only are the haters just plain haters, they are ignorant too.

With a good stiff losing fight the guy gets fights....with this KO he gets to be a TBA.

Speed of a punch = power....that was a nice coordinated punch to the button on a cold fighter.

It was at the very least, exaggerated by Ramos. I think it was rigged to entice people to bet on JMM against Pac. A lot more people will be willing to bet on JMM now.

If it wasn't, the casinos and promoters caught a very lucky break by what happened tonight... Personally, I tend to think that business people on that level make their own luck.

He weighed-in at 138, but I don't think they posted fight-night weights. He probably re-hydrated no more than two or three pounds, if anything.

he rehydrated to 145 from 135 in the katsidis fight so probably, jmm was around that weight.

I think Ramos didn't want to get his ass kicked by JMM. It wasn't so much a fix as much as some club fighter not wanting to get handed a world class beating.
