It does say something especially when you consider he would get a career high payday and a shot at redemption by doing so. I wanted JMM to try and avenge his loss to PBF before he retired but I don't think it will happen. I like and respect JMM so him not pursuing a rematch with PBF doesn't hurt his greatness to me.

With that said I think Pac knew deep down inside and so do his fans that PBF was a stylistic hell for him and could expose his flaws and make him look amateurish.

Actually, people wanted to see Pac vs Floyd simply because it was an interesting style clash. Mayweather fights nothing like Marquez so you can take that out of the equation. Floyd wasn't 100% of his chances against Pac and that should tell you everything you need to know. Could Floyd beat Pac? More then likely. Would it have been an easy fight? Hell no.

Good point. Add Hatton to the list.
Hatton did alright vs Mayweather before getting the check hook, he got destroyed by Pac.
I thought the DLH/ Mayweather fight was basically a draw, or slight edge to Mayweather.. Pac made DLH quit.
Cotto a good fight vs Mayweather... Pac beat him to a pulp.
Mosley almost knocked out Mayweather.. He ran from Pac after feeling his power.

If I were any of those guys I wouldn't rematch Pac, and they never did. Cotto wants to fight Mayweather again, RG wants to fight Mayweather again, etc. As you pointed out only person who ever wanted Pac rematch was JMM because he had the style to beat him.

Styles make fights. JMM is a counter puncher, Floyd is a better counter puncher. JMM fights best against guys who come to him (Pac for example), he doesn't fight well being the aggressor and Floyd don't care if he's exciting or boring... So he is 0% willing to the aggressor against JMM. Somebody has to make the fight, and JMM has to much pride to try to put on a snoozefest. Unless Mayweather would really slow down... Marquez knows he simply doesn't have the style to beat Mayweather, and I'd say he's right.

Marquez knows Floyd and his style isn't something he can beat, and he doesn't want to take another loss. He took the Pac rematches because he felt he was the better man. Most top fighters avoid styles that will beat them, which is why Pac has fought mostly face first brawlers as he's gone up in weight.

There are fighters who'll fight anyone, despite not having the right style to beat them. Cotto for example wanted to rematch Pac, Margarito and Floyd. He got the Margo rematch, Pac wouldn't come up to 154 and I don't think Floyd is willing to do a rematch unless people really really felt he lost and he didn't feel that way.

I picked Mayweather to win, but I know he would've gone through hell to do it.

So Juan Manuel Marquez is a face first brawler that Packy fought him 4 times? Barrera also a face first brawler and Packy fought him twice? Miguel Cotto a face first brawler? Clottey a face first Brawler?

Explain yourself puto and don't even mention Hatton or Margarito because that's just 2 and Floyd also faced Hatton and a face first Robert Guerrero.

I think Jmm knows securing a 5th with Manny falls more to his favor, not that it will be easier. He's always fought on Manny's and Floyd's terms and despite the disadvantages you never heard a peep from him. If he's done with Manny after the 5th maybe he can turn his attention to Floyd. Jmm wasn't getting totally dominated in the last 2 rounds or so he was finding Floyd, but it was too late. Jmm would do much better in a rematch, but if he's not interested, then no motivation.

Actually JMM was dominate in the last 2 rounds vs Mayweather. Round 11 was the most lopsided of the fight. What fight were you watching?

People who keep saying styles make fights, are acting like Mayweather only has one style. Mayweather has shown the ability, to box, use it legs, fight at a distance, use angles, use the shoulder roll, use the high guard, walk guys down etc... he presents so match, that it doesn't matter what style an opponent brings, he will figure it out, adjust and outclass them.
