As a JMM fan who loves watching Pac and respects his accomplishments, it's definitely in his interests not to fight Marquez again. He may not be permanently psychologically damaged from the KO, but you can be damn sure he'll show him more respect. And more respect will only result in a boxing match like the third, in which Marquez's patience and ring generalship will win the day. He can't afford another loss if he wants to stay relevant, and I believe at his best, he can give Floyd a good fight. He can't squander what he has left chasing Marquez.

*******s are truly a cancer to boxing forums. They came in here around 2004-2005 not knowing JACK-**** about boxing, and have gradually left STILL not knowing jack-**** about boxing.

Now the only ones who are left behind are thos *******s who have inested far so much emoyionally, that they will probably suffer some form of depression once they accept REALITY.

i'm a fan of both guys equally. I think they're both exciting and atg's hands down, BUT...

I dont understand how some people, especially fans of mexican fighters, who pride themselves on an old school, macho, honorable warrior style of pugilism, can defend someone who was given three chances by a man who had the upper hand and could have gone in different directions, never to look marquez's way again after their first fight, but who, once he gains the upper hand, say's (if he did in fact say it) that he isn't interested in fighting his long time rival and that he doesn't owe pacquiao anything. I'm sorry, but when you've had four seesaw battles with a man, even if the final fight ended decisively in your favor, YOU STILL OWE THAT MAN A FIFTH FIGHT.

All *******-pummeling aside, this seems to me a very legit set of thoughts regarding a 5th fight.

Will the judging start to go the other way in a boxing match between the two? Will the closer rounds begin to be scored in favor of JMM rather than Pac all the time? Even a little of that could be very bad for Pac.

I don't know about him (or JMM) trying to fight Floyd, but Pac really should go and get his belt back from Timmeh. That would restore his confidence (assuming he wins, which I do) and serve as nice notice that he's not done.

For that matter, I would love watching JMM and Pac simultaneously cut a nice swathe through the 140-147lbers over the next couple of years. Let em' clean house on all the Khans, Garcias, Broners and Rios'. Petersons and Lopez'. If neither gets eaten by one of the young lions, then #5 would have some mystery and be a pretty big deal. At least in my eyes.

On the other hand they could both retire with my respect and gratitude.

Deal with it! Nobody is defending **** you pathetic stan...I'm sick of reading dumb **** from you...JMM just laid your idol out cold and you have the audacity to say that JMM is somehow ducking Pac???You're a dumb, ignorant dude!

It took nearly several years to get Pac to rematch JMM and now all of sudden he's supposed to instantly rematch Pac because a bunch of bitchass fans like yourself say so??? JMM has earned the right to fight whoever he wants.

You out of all people shouldnt call anybody soft...You truly are a piece of work...Every since Pac got his **** pushed in, you've been running your **** sucker non-stop about pointless bull****!

JMM doesnt owe Pac **** and you seriuosly need to get it through your tiny head!:-(

“When he gave me the opportunity (in the fourth fight), he actually gave himself the chance (to settle the issue),” said the 39-year-old Marquez, whose statements caused a stir among diehard Pacquiao fans.

Marquez said he doesn’t see a reason why a fifth fight should be made specially that he had proven who is the better man with his one-punch sixth-round knockout.

Besides, Marquez believes that fight fans are no longer keen on seeing him square off with the 34-year-old Pacquiao in a proposed showdown in September, stressing that his followers would rather see him meet somebody else.

Exactly. If Pac had a decisive victory over JMM we would not see those rematches. That's all it is. Pac isn't going around taking a rematch with people he decisively beat is he? So why should JMM? Because Pac kept going back thinking he's improved enough or JMM"s old enough to get a convincing win? No.

End thread. Pac was just trying to provide his career damage control in fighting JMM. JMM wasnt talking about being broke and needing money then the great human being Pac came nd gave him a fight. GTFOH for gods sakes.
