Marquez is as old as DLH @ 35, would Pac be given credit if he beats him again?

I can almost hear the excuses of Pac haters that he wait for JMM to get old and shot before giving him the rematch. Truth!

Depends. If Marquez were to beat Mayweather I don't think that anyone could discredit the win. If he get blown out like most people expect him to, then they will say that Mayweather ruined him

obviously...it is not ODH age it was the fact that he was drained totally...but i still give pac credit...how much credit can pac get though for beating one guy 3 times

i'm sad to say this but the chances, of marquez-pac 3 is very slim to none at this point.....marquez has to beat floyd, and manny has to beat cotto....and also you have to get through the promotional red tape of course

Let me ask you something, Did Pacquiao choose the weakest of the lightweight champions when he fought David Diaz? Was De La Hoya weight drained beyond repair? Was Rickey Hatton close to shot when they fought? Answer these questions objectively. I'm sure that there are many Pacquiao haters out there but even his true fans have to acknowledge that he has been guided masterfully by Freddie Roach and Bob Arum.

If Marquez were to beat Mayweather then Pac would get lots of credit, but for Marquez to win fight with Void will be uphill battle. Ref, judges, venue, commentators, etc. wil be against Marquez, not to mention size.

ehh, I see your point somewhat but, I feel it would apply more in a situation where manny was the decisive winner in the first two matches, and that wasn't the case in the slightest. the first round of the first fight is one of the very few (2? including the one I mentioned?) where manny truly put his stamp on a round. other than that, marquez made more than a good showing of himself, worthy of a third match

Not to mention that Pacquiao "might" decide to retire after the Cotto fight.

hmm says... depends on the weight and yes that number will be used as an excuse by haters if they fight and Pac wins.. they'll say.... blah blah blah Pac avoided JMM up to now so JMM would develop ring wear and get old etc. etc. I'm no JMM hater by the way.

He already fought him twice. He's not ducking Marquez at all. Yes, Hoya was on a loosing streak, semi-retired, preferred to sit at a desk talking to movie stars instead of doing ground work necessary to training for a fight. Marquez on the other hand gave Pac all he could handle while losing controversially (I'm in the minority on ESB of those who think Pac did beat him), knocked out Casamayor, and knocked out Diaz. Marquez is in much better shape than Hoya.
