Marquez does look like he is past his best by a fair bit but he's not quite finished yet. I will drop him a few slots in my P4P ratings though.
really? it's not like he's known as a never-to-get-hit fighter, he's always been hittable, last night didn't show anything negative about him really. Katsidis lands on everybody he fights and Marquez outlanded him and stunned him bad. Marquez is still an amazing counter-puncher, why did he drop in your rankings?
Marquez looked great to me. Almost flawless performance minus that one left hook he got caught with. But Marquez has always been one to get caught with punches like that. He looks as good as ever, maybe just a little slower to me.
I am a fan of JMM, but I must admit that I felt I saw signs that he isn't the fighter who fought Pacquiao anymore. I guess it depends how highly you rate Katsidis. I will not say that he is finished but a fight with Pacquiao North of 140 will IMO result in a brutalisation which could prove difficult to come back from. I really don't see Marquez adding much more to his legacy unless he avoids Pacquiao who would overwhelm him at the higher weight.
JMM still kicking ass and the best LW in the world and that's cuz he's close to 40. If he would of gotten dominated and then land a lucky punch there's an argument, but the one landing a lucky punch was Katsidis and that was that. I said before the fight it would resemble Arguello-Mancini and that's what happened.
Kat wasn't a C class fighter Marquez is just a great fighter ,who knows how to move and get back up and finished the deal if anything this would scare most fighters and especially Pac who couldn't KO him and who still beat Pac twice. This content is protected :vonnecunt
are you crazy! did you see how katsidis fought? he could have defeated anyone in lightweight if it wasnt marquez in there.
if you think Katsidis is C+ then you have never put on gloves and you do not know the sport very well.
Marquez has been in a decline for more than a few years now. His speed of hand and foot aren't what they used to be. But finished? As in completely done? **** no. He's got a few more lightweight defenses in him against the likes of Soto, Rios, Vazquez, etc. But if he fights Pacquiao next, it'll bring the finish line even closer for him.
