I don't have a problem with Pac/Mosley, JMM/Morales or Cotto/Mayorga so much as they aren't the ones I'd most like to see those fighters in. If Morales had the exact same last three or four fights without the legendary name, this would not be an issue. It would just be Marquez is going to fight some okay fighter that holds that **** silver light welterweight belt. Because Morales is an okay fighter in his highly past prime state. Just like Mayorga qualifies as a tough big guy for Cotto regardless of what he used to be. Or just like Mosley is still a quick-handed, iron-chinned good fighter, though not near a great fighter that he used to be. None of these fights are anything like shameful to me. No more than they are hugely promising. I'd prefer seeing a Marquez/Soto/Bradley, etc, fight, but ...eh. No scorn from me here.

WOW, just fu****g W-O-W:yikes....... THIS interview should be put in a sticcky by the mods so every pac fan can see... I gotta tell you, I don't mean to offend anybody, but I feel extremely compelled to agree with the assertion that only a person with a high degree of ******ation/ignorance can't see this guy is lying, blatantly lying!! This can't be good 4 the sport. This can't be good 4 anything! This li'l guy is a disgrace for the sport & for real fans of ANY proffessional sport.... THERE, I SAID IT!!!!! I'll take a guy with a vacation excuse over this kind of pathetic liar any time of the week, 24/7... and he is a congressman....in the Philippines....Go figure out!! These kind of followers (pacquiao's) go beyond being fans... they resemble more like members of a cult, whatever their leader says, they'll believe no matter how insane it may be.... Koresh/Waco, Jim Jones/Guyana, pacuiao/Philippines.... see the trend??:nut

@El Caballo: You do know that English is Pacquaio's third language. It is obvious that he is having a hard time expressing himself on that interview. I will just enlighten you on how his thought process is:

Pac's hear the question in English, his brain translate it first to Filipino, then into Cebuano.. and when he answers he thinks of an answer in Cebuano, translate it into Filipino then English... Thus, English - Filipino- Cebuano - Filipino - English.

If he answered those questions in his native tongue I'm sure nothing will be lost in translation.

Pac, Cotto, and JMM are all getting **** for taking on soft opposition.

But in order, from toughest opponent to easiest, it's

    1. Mosley
    2. Mayorga
    3. Morales.

    That's your opinion.

    1. Pac is leagues above this version of Mosley. Stupid fight.
    2. Cotto has not been the same fighter since Margarito and has a suspect chin, Mayorga can crack chins.
    3. Who knows what this lay off has done for Morales. No one can accurately predict what Morales will look like since he hasn't been in a real fight.

Never the less, all shitty, and the one that remorely excites me is the Mayorga-Cotto fight.

I think Mayorga would have beaten Mora so Mayorga would probably be higher. Also Morales has beat some decent 140 pounders. By no mean world beaters but decent guys 10 pounds above his last relevant weight.

Morales last few fights he may have won against limited opposition...but before that he lost 4 straight fight (two by tko/ko by Pacquiao). Mayorga lost to Mosley last....and that wasnt all that one sided at all....but come on...Morales got beat by David Diaz...no offence to the guy....he's a really nice guy....but would the Morales of old even have come close to being beat by a Diaz type of fighter? I doubt it.

Basically Cotto aint getting as much sh!t for fighting Mayorga...because most people know Mayorga will be more of a live opponent than Morales....

(p.s im a a Morales fan before you think im hating on the guy)

JMM last 5 fights, he is 4-1 with 3 KO's.... (with the 6th prior fight being a razor thin loss to Pac)

JMM is rated #4 p4p in the world. JMM is basically the 4th ranked fighter, in the world.

Within Cottos last 5 fights, he has recieved massive, and some will say career altering beatdowns in two of them, including the time before last in which hes had ONE fight since that beatdown.

Cotto is also not rated even in the top 10 p4p, is not a real champion in any weight division, and is on the comeback trail. Given his circumstances, he has no obligation to fight anyone of note at this point in time.

Its been 2 years since Mayorga lost to Shane Mosley.

Its been 3 years since Morales lost to..... David Diaz.

Given where JMM and Cotto are within boxing right now, and their careers, and the context in which these fights are being held, its not hard to see why people are coming down harder on JMM then on Morales, imo. Hes on a winning streak, hes rated higher, and theres more expectations from he as such.

Mosley actually knocked Mayorga the **** out.

Mosley is leagues better than Mayorga at this stage of their careers

and both Mosley and Mayorga would wipe the floor with Morales.
