He's been dropped more than Cotto but has not taken a punch/punches cotto has taken...they where never in the same weight class either so you can only speculate...on the other hand Cotto never drank his own ****:deal

Mayorga I think is seen as someone with more left in the tank...he's also bigger and stronger. JMM and EM are the same size but EM's legs are seen as GONE. But I'mma watch the fight! I think it will be a good one.

weight for weight....yes he's taken equivalent punches that cotto has. the proof is just that: he's been dropped more than cotto

With all due respect, let me stop you in your tracks when it comes to talking about expectations....

In JMM we are talking about one of the best fighters of his generation who's been vastlyunderpaid his whole career.

Marquez is a fighter who's always wanted to fight the very best but had always been handed the **** end of the stick.......

Through 3 weight divisions now he's fought at a very high skill level........he did'nt even get a deserved enough payday going up two ****ing weight divisions to fight Mayweather.
.......Manny Pacquaio wanted to give him less than 10% of the ****ing cut for a third fight, so dont come in here talking about expectations for this man......

.......the man has paid his ****ing dues and its about time he eyes the financial gain in it.

As far as I'm concerned its not about expectations or proving himself any longer......from here on in at his age and time left in the sport its about strictly who gives me the biggest payday in a situation where he's certain he's not out of his element.

......for example, if the payday is going to be within the same ballpark whether he fights Morales or Khan, he's earned the right to chose Morales.

If the promoters and fans want to see him against the likes at 140 lbs like Khan, Maidana, Bradley, the man has got to get paid for takiing that risk because he's no longer a spring chicken.

At this point and time the likes of the younger studs at 140 lbs like Khan and Co dont even offer the same payday that a Morales fight does, much less significantly more which is what should be offered Marquez to take those guys on........

.......As far as I'm concerned if those youger fighters want JMM's name on their resume, they're going to have to pay for it by taking a much smaller piece of the financial pie, which is'nt happening right now.......all those guys want close to financial parity to fight Marquez, which is a reason for Marquez to turn them down.

Except for a Pacquiao fight for Marquez that would be historical as far as legacy is concerned, Marquez should not let younger studs ask for financial parity against his resume.

Morales offers less risk, and more money, not a difficult decision at all for a fighter thats been neglected and disrespected his whole career.

It about time JMM gets paid dammit!!!!:fire

I love your kilometers long post of conspiracy theories.

Enlighten everybody again how JMM ended up fighting for 30 thousand dollars instead of 850,000 dollars, or how his career had lagged behind MAB and EM?

There are so many newbies here in ESB and they need to be enlightened on your spectacular theories.

Cause mayorga has a good shot her (at least punchers chance).... Morales imo has no shot, not even a punchers chance.

The reason that pac and jmm are receiving a lot of stick for their cherry picking is because they both reside in the top 4 boxers in the whole world.

They should be setting the standards rather than taking on **** opponents.

Cotto, on the other hand, is still on the comeback trail and has taken some serious punishment in 3 of his last 5. He got smashed off margo, beat an overmatched jennings, went life and death with clottey, got smashed off pacman and then fought on even terms with foreman until his knee conked out.

He is not in the p4p top 10 list at the moment, and won't be until he has another meaningful victory.

Not only that, but marquez is being consistently called out by soto. Up until now he has fought better opponents than soto, however ducking soto for morales is not acceptable.

Sure JMM was and has been underpaid from the standpoint that he's one of the best. But just b/c he's one of the best doesn't mean he's getting paid like a SUPERSTAR, ya feel me?:D

Put it this way......It's not enough in boxing just to be a master boxer. it's good for your legacy, it's good for your life after boxing, but it doesn't equate to watching your money stacks grow like weeds in the middle of summer.

JMM had his shot to be on anther level in term so his "Stock" as a boxer and his recognition to casual fans, but he just came up short against the best fighter in boxing.

Had JMM took that immediate rematch with PAC after he was given a gift draw which allowed him to hold on to his titles when PAC was still one demensional, he could have adjusted and made improvments to beat PAC and move on to better things, bigger paydays and more popularity.

But JMM ducked the immediate rematch and his career took a major detour. He lost to Chris john over seas fighting for peanuts when he could have made his highest career payday in a rematch with PAC.

JMM was able to carve his way back to the top of the sport with some good wins but makign the decision to avoid the rematch was the stupidest thing he could have done. The longer he waited the less chance he had at beating Manny.

Then he made anther stupid decision to out price himself against PAC in a 3rd fight and lost a nice retirement bonus. Who ever is advising him needs to be fired. Sure JMM may deserve $10 million based on what he's given hard core boxing fans but he's not a superstar like a Mike Tyson, PAC, DLH or Floyd. So he should know his role and what that role is paid...Not what he "Thinks" he deserves.
