Marquez is a sore loser and a coward. He's ducked top fighters for lesser-knowns before and still even lost then. The only time he's fought top fighters is when he was desperate for fame or money. He's Pac's kryptonite, but that's all he'll ever be. I mean if you desperately live, breathe, and dream Pacquiao for 5 years then you better finally win at some point.

I have said it before that Marquez was a bit overrated. The FLoyd fight confirmed this and now the Bradley fight too. Yes, he matched up well against Manny but not so good against Floyd, Chris John, Bradley etc. Dude is overrated.

The only knock against Marquez is that for a guy who prides himself on being a counter puncher, he almost always loses when he fights quality counter fighters. His career has been built on beating brawlers. He struggles mightily against patient fighters, even ones that are not Elite. For a guy of Marquez's supposed talents, he should not have struggled against guys like Norwood and John. Hell even a washed up Barerra almost outboxed him.

Styles make fights and Pacquiao helped make Marquez into who he is. Outside of Pacquiao, Marquez has mediocre wins and losses against Chris John, Norwood, Mayweather, Pacquiao, etc.

Anyone without any bias can see that Marquez was overrated as he was ranked #3 P4P prior to the Bradley fight which was ridiculous. I do think that Marquez's legacy took a large hit, but he is where he is supposed to be in the first place. I'm glad that he got exposed for what he really is before retirement, which is that he's a decent fighter but not any better than Erik Morales or Barrera.

This is what i have been saying. He's good when he fights soutpaws that come to him.
Southpaw that are easy to hit clean at that. Marquez has difficulties looking good against slick boxers.

TBF, post Heredia JMM would have stopped Diaz inside 3 IMO. You can tell JMM doesn't have the same power.

It seems with the power, he lost speed and looks very flat footed though, although he's never really been that bouncy on his feet.

Doesn't matter if he was 25, Marquez has always struggled against guys that didn't come straight at him but instead chose to box.

fighter doesnt think he lost fight "shock horror", anyone can list 50+ examples of fighters who were clearly beatan but after the fight they claim to be robbed, its nothing new, as a marquez fan he lost the fight imo 115-113, close but clear decision for bradley.

The guy is pushing on 40 now and still hanging with the best guys in the world, and btw which is worse, marquez claiming he won a fight that went to decision or tards on here bringing up the scorecards in the jmm-pac 4th fight and calling it a lucky punch

He's not a Pacquaio specialist because he lost to him twice and was losing a 3rd time until Marque'z lucky punch.
