win or lose Marquez is the big winner taking this fight with Mayweather ... and I wouldn't take him lightly in any fight.

he stands to make a better name for himself in the long run than Manny Pacquiao ... he's fighting better opposition, he's winning, and he's taking on bigger challenges than Pacquiao.

he's fighting Mayweather, then there are talking of him fighting Morales in the near future and there is plenty of talented fighters in the lightweight division where he's the champion.

i'm going to say it again ... a loss to Mayweather would trump a win over a faded DLH any day.

he's taking the risk of fighting an undefeated fighter at the top of his game.

I'm to disappointed in Mayweather to be respectful of Juan.

    The winner is Mayweather.

Because people are going to believe this match-up is competitive.

When in reality he's getting $'s and his name back in the frame for huge fights for an easy nights work against a natural featherweight with a bad style match-up.

Marquez is the winner ... he's taking the challenge of fighting a bigger fighter w/ good skill and an incredible track record.

How do you figure when he probably had to take a small cut and is going to receive a one sided beating?

win or lose, he's still the winner just because of the risks he's taking ... Mayweather is just using this fight as a "dress rehersal" more than a tune up fight ...

Marquez has speed, good timing, good boxing ability, and an incredible track record himself.

I can only assume that the threadstarter is implying that ultimately we're all winners in life, no matter how badly things may go wrong for us.

I can't believe Mayweather Jr fans just lap all of this up. You're guy is handpicking yet another easy opponent.

How is JMM fighting better opposition & taking on bigger challenges?

''Morales'' as in old washed-up Erik Morales? :nut:nut
I guess you're talking about some other morales, i'm sure, right?

How can a loss be better then a Win? :nut

I like JMM, but this is his last chance to get a HUGE payday before he retires, he knows he can't win.
Mayweather wins by UD with ease.

Morales a future hall of famer ... and still a huge draw ... more of a draw than any other fighter ... yeah he's lost but every time he went out like a warrior and has gain more respect from fans for that.

Marquez' options range from LW to LWW

Compare beating David Diaz who was clearly out of his league and really isn't world class ... to beating the linear champion (Casamayor) then beating the #1 ranked guy in Diaz.

And having so many options ...

Pacquiao doesn't _ he's limited ... he doesn't want to take the challenges that Marquez had to take at lightweight and he's not going to risk fighting those welterweights out there ...

Let me spell it out for you.

Marquez is another cherry-picked opponent for Mayweather.

Another small guy who matches up badly stylistically, and looks far better as a match-up on paper than in reality.

And Morales is shot. You've just bad-mouted Pac for fighting a faded De La Hoya and now you are trying to justify JMM-Morales if it happens.

Spoken like a true Mayweather nuthugger.
Marquez has absolutely no chance to win this.

Marquez gets a great payday and keeps his belts win or lose. Even with a one side beating, his wallet grows a lot fatter and he can go back to 135 and make a fight with Valero or give Diaz a rematch

Marquez is my favorite active fighter and I think he has close to zero chance to win this. He's too f*&king small. Mayweather's just an out and out coward. You can't blame Marquez. The guy's utterly fearless, and could use a nice payday at this point in his career (hell, he Deserves a nice payday at this point in is career). But I don't know how Mayweather looks himself in the mirror in the morning. Fight a WW you chicken****.
