Marquez already setting the ground work for his excuse when he loses. If you know its a huge disadvantage, then don't take the fight!

Marquez is 100% right, but once again, he agreed to the dumb catchweight, so....

I remember that. And wasn't it just the other day Marquez was quoted as saying the fight being at 144 won't be such a disadvantage as it was in the Mayweather fight as he and Pac were the same size?

He also put Mayweather beating him completely down to do the weight advantage, and has consistently said this since the fight.

This guy flips flops like the worst of them. If he wants it at 141 or whatever, he should threaten pull out, and Arum would have to listen to him as it's such a big event he can't afford to cancel.

Seriously it's behind us, yes we wanted 140 but we at least get the fight at a weight not to great, but I would rather the fight be made then always wondering what would have been in the trilogy we at least know it's gonna be a great fight as a mexican warrior and a pinoy warrior are going to collide, there won't be no running in the ring ala, clottey, cotto, mosely...

So it's behind us who cares, Pac is in a no win situation but his team brought it onto him....

Can't wait for the fight, I think it's gonna be very competitive and a classic.

Someone correct me if I am wrong... But if the fight is at 144, can't Marquez weigh in at 135 or pretty much whatever weight he wants (under 144, of course) in order to bring the best version of himself into the fight? They are both within 2-3 pounds of each other on fight night, so I don't see any advantages other than Pac not having to drain himself. I mean, the guy's last six fights have been at 147, 140, 145, 147, 150, and 147. It's safe to say that he's settled into the welterweight division. Sounds like Marquez doesn't want to fight the best version of Pac. I think this also means that Marquez never fought the best version of Pac in their 2 fights.

Yeah it's true, but he signed the contract and didn't argue so it is what it is. I wish it was at 140, a trilogy of this magnitude deserves a more even playing field but oh well, fights on, hopefully Marquez makes it competitive anyway.

Why did Pacquiao insist on a weight limit of 144 when he is in fact a 140'er really at this point? It's really simple: because he can pack on a few more pounds more effectively than his opponent. He gets more power, more stamina, doesn't lose his speed even if he weighs in at that weight, while in comparison Marquez has shown he doesn't really improve his power at all, and his speed becomes a non-factor at this weight.

It's like in a battle between two armies, the one who is more familiar fighting in marshlands will obviously strive to bring the conflict to these areas in order to eke out this advantage.

wouldn't matter. Pacman fighting his fight and using his speed outclasses Marquez.

So we're all in agreement that Marquez has never faced the best version of Pac? Marquez has stated that he will be fighting the best version of Pac this time around.

True, this time around it's Marquez challenging the best version of Pac. Pacquiao challenged the best version of Marquez in the first fight. The rematch was more or less on an even playing field.

What he's doing is worse than complaining.

"I'm OK about the weight but if I lose, its because of the weight." :huh
