Interesting thing to note....Roberto Duran told Marquez that PBF relies on his left way too much and when PBF throws it to hit him on the body where he will either hit his body or kidney euither way he will lose his legs after a few roundss. Furthermore, He also says that PBF when he took the fight he thought Marquez was going to be a push over and is in for a rude awakening. Marquez looked damn good....I am now leaning towards Marquez. Not only is he an intelligent boxer..he has the skills and heart to take it.... One thing that the Mayweather camp said that is troubling for them...." Mexican fighters fight from their hear and not from their heads " Marquez fights from both and he will definitely bring it !!!!!
I am starting to think that PBF's edge is gradually waning. If Marquez continues to improve his speed I would say that PBF is in for a long night.
That's stupid logic considering BJJ is more revolved around grappling than striking. And Floyd's power at WW is completely overrated. He hasn't KO'd or hurt anyone of significance at WW. Whereas Marquez KO's opponents as he moves up in weight. Marquez will be the stronger man on 9/19...I guarantee it. Floyd will fight on the backfoot and off the ropes.
How many times did Mayweather say that? If I remeber it right, in all his fights, he says things like he will knock his opponent out. And you know the outcomes. If JMM would be strong at this weight, then May will potshot his way to victory and you can quote me later on that. Maywetaher is not stupid to engage if he feels that JMM added bulk will endanger him. He could easily potshot his way, having a few inch longer reach. Besides, in close quarter fighting, the one with the shorter arm would be of advantage so you do not expect May to engage.
Too different styles for sure......the other side of the coin is that its harder to evade Pac's shots than it is Mayweather's......which could mean Marquez will have less to worry about as far as incoming.......DLH is testament to it.
This thread serves as evidence that the fight was not a "foregone conclusion" to fans beforehand, the way it has been downplayed post-fight.
well the fight beforehand was assumed to be at a catchweight of 144, which was already in Floyd's advantage according to almost everyone. In the end he didn't even make the weight.
Quite a few positive remarks about Marquez as well throughout. There are many other threads on here pre-fight that had many Marquez supporters expecting big things from Marquez.
