Yeah it makes no sense, unless marquez turns out sucesfull at 147 most likely he will end up with only close losses at his ideal weight that could have gone his way, Great boxer.
this is from one of my posts in 2007 Yesterday, judging from some of the posters' comments, I had the impression that people felt JMM got robbed against Chris John, so I downloaded the fight and scored it carefully. First of all I'd like to say that its a really good fight between 2 elite fighters! round 1 >> 10 - 9 for John round 2 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez round 3 >> 10 - 9 for John round 4 >> 10 - 9 for John round 5 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez round 6 >> 10 - 9 for John round 7 >> 10 - 9 for John round 8 >> 10 - 9 for John round 9 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez round 10 > 9 - 9 round 11 > 10 - 8 for John round 12 > 10 - 9 for Marquez TOTAL Chris John 115 - 111 JMM I have Marquez winning 3 of the last 4 rounds but he was deducted 2 points, which is brutal in such a close fight. The deductions were very fair btw. Marquez was warned twice before the first deduction, and Chris John was not given much time at all to recover from the low blows. Points I'd like to make about the fighters. Judging from this fight, Chris John has a better defense than Marquez and is a better counterpuncher. He blocked almost all of Marquez's punches with his gloves and arms, and is very quick to retaliate after blocking punch or a series of punches. Marquez is the stronger fighter and has the better balance (more solid on his feet). On the rare occassions he landed a good shot on John it had more effect than when John landed on Marquez. Also alot of the punches that John blocked still made John move backwards. Chris John also has the better jab of the two. All in all its a damn good fight and a fair decision. I can understand the judges had wider scoring margins for John as usually judges are slightly affected by the hometown crowd, and many of the rounds were quite close. but then I rescored it some time later and had it a draw
The last time I told someone I had John winning on here I got told I never actually saw the fight and that I was a ******* ***** :verysad
I disagree quite strongly with this. I think in the first half only round 3 can go john's way. Infact until the tenth he looked to really struggle with the ferocity and accuracy of jmm's combinations. I gave twelve john as well, thought he boxed great the last 2 minutes.
Yeah I don't understand this mentality. If a guy performs great but 3 or 2 men disagree it should make no difference.
Good man! I save my cards on a thread I update in the classic. I've recently gathered all my scores (that go against an official verdict) together and I now try to post my rbr on the classic forum also
I hope you never score fights while listening to the sky sports commentary team, those guys thought Mosley was fighting a real smart fight against Pacquiao
The speakers on my monitor don't work so I don't have sound when I watch them. I've got quite good at blocking sound out now because i'm so used to watching fights in silence.
I scored the Chris John fight by a few points for Marquez, and the low-blow deductions were excessive and really hurt him. Norwood I also scored for JMM, I believe the referee missed his knockdown as well. Bad fight though.
Did you incorporate the deductions? Because if not, then those last two points combined with biased refereeing definitely point to an unfair decision.
