JMM is really like Mayweather. Extremely talentd but his resume did not catch up with his talent. If comparing the talents among the 3 great mexican, JMM would be at par, or even somewhat slightly superior to both EM and MAB. How his career was managed left something to be desired. He was offered 850,000 dollars to fight Pac in a rematch but balked because that amount was only 100,000 greater than the first fight, yet he went to an Indonesian parjking lot for 30,000 dollars, which is less than 1/3 the 100 thousand increase that was being offered. He fought a slew of good opposition but nowehere near his level, and JMM seems to fight at the level of his opponents. On paper, Katsidis should not bother JMM at all, yet on the contrary, he got KDed by Katsidis.
One of the best. First time i saw him fight was first Pac fight (also first Pac fight i saw) Needless to say which became my favourite boxer from then on, he put on a clinic and should have been giving the W.
It is actually disrespectful to compare JMM with Mayweather, *******. JMM fought Pac 3 times already while Mayweather fought Pac in the twitter. Get you mouth off Gayweather's nuts. I have mad respect for JMM but intentionally **** off Divac.
JMM has alot of missing big names that he could have fought. He is highly regarded because he was competitive with Pac where many others could not be. Without those 3 fights with Pac, he will not even be mentioned in the same class as Barrera (even though he's beaten him) or Morales.
I do think JMM is somewhat overrated. I also recognize that it is a legitimate topic. I do think JMM's legacy overall is very solid. The strength in JMM's legacy is his razor close fights with Pac. Pac was at the top of the P4P chart for a long time and JMM is his chief rival. I obviouslly don't think Pac, JMM or Floyd have an place in all time rankings at Welterweight. Pac is in top 3 all time natural featherweights. JMM is may be top 15 natural featherweight. Floyd may be as high as #3 in natural lightweights.
absolutely not motherfuker it's extremely disrespectful to Floyd to compare him to JMM. Floyd was a more talented fighter at the age of 16 than JMM ever was
I'm a fan of both guys but is Pacquaio's resume really that much better in the same time span? A 40 yr old weight drained DLH, Hatton( really good win but no better than Marquez' win over Barrera), Cotto( another good win equal to Marquez' 2 one-sided wins over Juan Diaz), Clottey(Casamayor), Margarito(Katisidis), Mosley(Juarez)...
With all due respect regarding MAB, if anything that should have HELPED him. I mean, just look at the hellacious beatdown Mosley gave Margarito once his wife left him. :yep
