Jmm = the most underrated fighter of this era. I feel bad that he hasn't gotten the attention he should have. Poor dude.

there's no doubt that he's a talented boxer. I just hope that his last 3 or 4 fights will be against any of the following:

    rios,soto,bradley,khan,maidana,gamboa,ortiz,alexander,demarco

I wanted to answer the original quote but I can't top what Bogo has written here and previously. The Juan Diaz stoppage is his most underrated performance IMO given how highly Diaz was rated at the time, but some boxing fans have short memories. How ironic that last week the rabid Pacquaio fanatics came up with all these nonsensical reasons for Marquez' superb performance and this week we have his status and resume attacked.None of these stand up to scrutiny but what they maybe should ask is;what would Manny think of this drivel? Not much I suspect.

all his life he was fighting bums. the only reason why he is regarded an ATG is becuase he gave pacquiao problems.

what a pathetic accomplishment. fought pacquiao 3 times and he is still found wanting.

marguez is the most overrated mexican fighter ALL-TIME.

who did he beat again? pffft!

And 5 years from when he retires, "Oh Rios was a KO waiting to happen, DeMarco was a bum, Gamboa too small, Maidana a Bum, Soto overrated..." and so on "He should have fought Canelo, Lara, Martinez, and ?(who ever becomes a top fighter at welter or 154 in the future)?". Be sure to hear comments similar to those 5 years from now. Marquez could have gone the easy route and stayed at 135 and never ask Pac for a third fight with everything stacked against him, but he went on and fought him on his weight division.

Just like people. had doubts Pacquiao could beat Cotto, Hatton, De La Hoya, and Mosley, people had doubts Marquez had it in him to beat Diaz, Katsidis, Casamayor, Pacquiao, and he beat them all. Look up the threads where people were split 50/50 before those fights happened, and 10/90 against Marquez vs Pac.

i agree, bromosapien. his resume is nothing but cans anyways. barerra was a total can when he walloped him and then he beat that loser, bum pacquiao three times. he was only good at beating overrated fighters IMO.

Yeah, agreeing to fight Mayweather is a clear-cut case of cherry picking.
