oscar as we all agree is past his prime. speedwise, he will not match pac at this time. but this oscar was still good to pull a SD-loss agaist then p4p#1 floyd and a UD win over a 147 contender in steve forbes. almost everyone are banking on oscar to win this because of size and power and not because of oscar's past traits.

i scored this fight 113~112 pac as i remember. 7 rounds to 5 rounds jmm. if you will base it on the number of rounds won, you can call it a schooling. but round 1 did happened and it is hard to win a fight if you are down that big. amazingly, jmm pulled back into the fight after only round 6 with just 1 point deficit. rounds 7~12 were close ones and could have decided the fight for each fighter.

i disagree with this fluctuation in pac's performance while going-up. imo, pac was steadily improving while he went up even with the draw against jmm and loss to morales afterwards. morales employed the long jab but followed them up with shots and that continuously backed pac up unto the ropes. mab tried the jab but just for the sake of jabbing. he cannot contain pac who will just beat him to it or move away from it. marquez really just has a difficult-countering style that is all-wrong for pac's come forward style. barrera did tried to use this in the rematch and has some moments of success but was not as committed to face pac head-on as marquez was on the rematch.

Hamed is not a hall of famer. He got schooled by one P4Per in Barrera and wouldve been whooped by the other three amigos. He definitely had the talent but not the heart of a true atg.

I was hoping you weren't going to pretend that the Oscar who fought Mayweather furiously for the first half of their fight; throwing combination's to the head and body whilst taking the odd solid shot himself, was the same Oscar who fought Pacquiao. That fight took place at 154, the weight Oscar has grown comfortable in the last few years. He didn't have to kill himself to make weight, like he did against Pacquiao, and perhaps it's just time for him to call it a day. Two different fighters altogether, anyhow.

It's baffling how anybody could have scored the fight for Pacquiao after how one-sided it began to become. I thought it was the lasting impressions that seeded into the judges minds, not the very first round of the fight. Great fight, tremendous drama, and will perhaps will always be the defining moment for Marquez's long and somewhat unfortunate career. I hope he gets redemption, though. He deserves the chance.

    Fair enough.

Pacquiao's improvements as a fighter, although existing, were often overstated, which was probably why he was favourite going into the rematch with Marquez. Personally, I always felt that Marquez would give Pacquiao problems. He doesn't seem to be able to get out of the way of the straight right hand, and Juan can pop. He is no knockout artist, but he hurt Pacquiao plenty of times in both of their fights. Harrison never mentions that, mind you. Maybe he's partial to Pacquiao...I'm not certain.

In any event, Barrera lost both fights to Pacquiao, regardless of what excuses come out of the woodwork. I think the Barrera fresh off his victory over Hamed applies his jab with more regularity, and throws 3-4 punch combinations with Manny coming inside. He'd often counter with a left hook, but like in the Salud fight, he used the straight right instead because of Salud's guard. Could have been effective against Manny.

The second fight is labled as an easy Pacquiao win, but I actually think the fight was a lot closer than the scorecard's suggested.

Jesus F'n Christ..watch the 2nd fight more closely. MAB was collecting a paycheck just like ODLH, except he last 12 rounds. Close doesn't count when it comes to wins and losses.

I'll say it again, I felt the scorecards were wider than what the action actually showed. :good

Well, you have to admit that the statement of JMM is a bit self-serving. But you have to admit that after MAB, which he lost, there isn't any more big names on his resume. Hamed is definitely not HOF worthy.

And to you guys who insists that Hamed is, simply because McGuigan is already there, well, McGuigan doesn't deserve it also. Canastota lowered their standards so disgustingly just so that they have to induct 3 modern fighter every year. More fighters to induct, the more guest and tourists there will be to help with the finances.

And lastly, even with all the disagreement you may have, Hamed will get in HOF simply because of what was mentioned above. Look, Ingemar Johannson in already on the HOF. The sole reason was because he beat Floyd Patterson. Imagine that.

Yes, that's true, although I would argue that Marco always had good boxing skills and utilized them from time to time from early in his career when he felt he had to... it's just that he tore through opponents so ferociously that he rarely had to use those boxing tools.

He looked fantastic against Salud, but my favorite MAB performance was I think against Richie Wenton - pretty sure that's who he was fighting. He countered EVERYTHING Wenton threw with blistering combinations, it was one of the most technically perfect performances I've ever seen. Anytime Wenton dared to throw a punch he got smacked about eight times. Wenton's not a worldbeater, granted, but if you're a MAB fan that was just a very entertaining fight to watch.

I don't think any FW in history except Wayne McCollough takes Naz's best shots, the man had a horseshoe in each glove, just an absolutely brutal puncher. When he caught Augie Sanchez I seriously thought Sanchez was dead before he hit the floor. Anyone who brawls with him and gets caught clean is probably going to sleep. Best way to go is to do what MAB did and box his ears off.

I would also make it a 60/40 fight for Pac over Hamed. Pac can't resist brawling, and that opens up the door to a massive punch from Naz.

I cant stand Hamed and i do think his resume is a bit padded due to when he stepped up in class and fought Barrera he was schooled having said that he had become a one punch bomber by that point if we are talking the Hamed of 1995-1997 then i think its a much more competitve fight with Marco Hameds powere p4p was frightning.

Naz let himself down when he refused to come back to face MAB, that will & should always be a black mark against his ATG standing.

He probably should however have done enough to get into the HOF.
