Over at the scene I was going through some of their recent articles and Marquez says about his next fight:
Found it bloody interesting that Golden Boy themselves don't think he's worth what he thinks he is. His hypocritical fanboys need to STFU and stop defending his ridiculous purse demand for Pac, when his own promoter doesn't want to risk paying him what he wants because he's not a big draw. Also interesting how he's basically admitting he chose Morales over Khan and Berto. A little harsh calling it a duck with him being at 135, but when it's Morales he's choosing, not Soto or Guerrero, that's some fine cherry picking at best.

he will either take the easy payday against Morales

or the bigger, harder payday against Khan and go for the glory

the berto fight seems rediculous but who knows.

Khan could be to dangerous for him if he is looking to finish the trilogy. But hey heard alexander is calling him out so he may take that and hold of for a month.

:rofl Berto? Berto looking for 135 pounders? Really, **** off Berto.

If Marquez considers having a feel-out fight and seals himself at 140, then a fight with one of the champs should be on page, but Berto?

Well it's clear he's looking for big money before he retires. Soto has a bout scheduled does he not?

The Pacquiao bout is a big risk after what Pacquiao has done in recent years...I'm not surprised he asked for what he did.

Khan is a dangerous bout, as is Berto...and would once again be moving up a division, not even close to a duck.

wtf is the point of fighting berto in berto's mind, he needs to step up. first fight his mandatory or get stripped by the wbc... ow wait that only applies when they want to make a mexican living of a name champ.
Berto should chase the pac fight for november

so jmm trying to get a fight w/ pac is cherrypicking???
by far he gave pac his toughest fights in the past 6-7 yrs......and he deserves to get a good purse for it.
pac fighting clottey & margocheato & ssm...........now that's some cherrypicking son.

in his mind,he is not confident in taking on bigger taller, stronger, longer reach guys like berto and khan, the floyd fight confirmed that for him.

he wants pac,cuz he doesnt recognise that pac has improved,he is ingnorant to the fact that pac is stronger and bigger now,and much improved technically.

he thinks he won both fights and thinks he can go in do the same and win for sure.

but he lost the first,he should thank that 1 judge for his gift draw.

he prob did just win the 2nd.

people forget he was offered the 3rd fight ages ago and turned it down, and now hes buying himself out of the fight.

but if it happened, pac would demolish him, being even heavier and stronger, with better technique, pac would put him down enough times to win by tko.

Marquez needs to stop the b/s and admit he is a lightweight and that is his limit as far as it going up in weight.

he should fight one of the other titlists and unify lightweight, not fight a past it morales who is a shell of his former self.

but still those lightweight are taller, have more range, and arent so bad themselves,so i bet he doesnt fancy it that much.

err no. he made sure he didn't get the Pac fight by pricing himself out of it. He's after the payday, not Pac. Get it right. He's preference is Morales next. The easiest option...over Khan and Berto fights which could help him more in his pursuit of a third Pac fight. Especially the Khan fight, which would also bring him the most money. He should really be fighting Khan in April, he just doesn't want to take the risk. He'd prefer to just talk **** about how he can easily beat these guys and belittle Pac for actually doing it.

Marquez is in his late 30's now and has been in his fair share of wars. It isn't fair to expect him to move up to fight people in their mid 20's without a few warm up fights at least. I agree that he won't be as good at moving through the weights as Pac but let's not forget there is a good chance Pac is a steroid user.

This is strange, I thought the morales fight was set in stone, they didnt actually sign it?

I mean I am against the morales fight and it would be great if he fights someone else, I was prepared to support and root for morales though even if its futile.
