yes both times on my cards, im a big fan of both guys but pacquiao has beat him twice and here is why. Pacquiao vs Marquez 1: Marquez outboxes pacquiao beautiful but loses due to the kd's. -pac scored 3 kd's in the first round, that means he now only needs to win 4 rounds of the remaining 11 to win the fight right. So which rounds did pacquiao won in the remaining part of the fights? Round 2: pacquiao round Rounds 3-6 marquez dominating Round 7: from memory I always thought Pacquiao won this round but after rewatching I say its fair to call it even. Round 8: pacquiao round Round 9: goes to marquez round 10: pacquiao round Round 11:marquez round Round 12: pacquiao edges this round Final score: 114-112 pacquiao This is the closest fight in my opinion, because it could also have been a draw or very close marquez win. I think pacquiao edged it in this fight by winning enough rounds after round 1, marquez won the event though. Fight number 2, rematch, I thought the first fight was closer(eventhough the scorecard doesnt show it) I dont really get people saying marquez got robbed. here is the scorecard: Round 1: tough round to score but pacquiao won it round 2: clearly marquez round 3: only kd in the fight and a 10-8 pac round round 4: pacquiao round 5: marquez round 6: marquez round 7: pacquiao round 8: marquez round 9: pacquiao round 10: pacquiao round 11: marquez round 12: marquez Final score: 114-113 pacquiao, knock down gets him the win.
No, he was not. This fight was close and coulda gone either way. I had it 6-6 with the kd by pac, giving him the victory.
:rofl:rofl:rofl Did you not see Marquez kiss the canvas? Thats proof Pacquiao won the fight. I would like for more boxing matches to end when a fighter hits the canvas because its proof the other guy doesnt stand a chance.
I think Marquez deserved a close decision but robbed is a bit too strong of a word when I think of robbed I'm thinking Lewis Holyfield 1 and Whitaker Chavez
Negative... See Pac Jmm 1 where JMM dominated the rest of the fight, after round 1...(minus a few moments)
If you believe that he won CONVINCINGLY , then it just shows how utterly ignorant you are in regards to how boxing is scored.
In hindsight, I think if Pac pushed the tempo up a bit in round 12 and made it his round instead of JMM's, I honestly think people would complain less. I think we all have this lasting memory of JMM countering Pac with solid and crisp punches EVEN on the last rounds, and even after almost going down again in round 10.
Could of gone either way, but the fight at this weight limit well see how much improvements Pacquiao have made vs Marquez
That has been my stand before the Gayweather fight and this thread was before that fight. *****s think that I am discrediting Gayweather for no giving any ounce of respect for that fight. Fighting the pound for pound number 2 who happened to be a lightweight at welterweight does not float my boat.
I agree with this. At least for the 2nd fight, Pac and JMM had 5 clear rounds each, and the result of the fight is really dependent on how you score the remaining 2 close rounds. I forget which 2 are close, 1 and 7? or was it 9? anyway, JMM could definitely have won it,that's for sure depending on how you score those rounds. At most I would give JMM the nod 7-5 (for a win by 1 pt), but JMM beating Pac convincingly with 8-4 or even 9-3 is too much. Realistic scores would be 7-5 for JMM, 6-6 for Pac I think.
Why does round 3 automatically have to be 10-8? Marquez was winning the round, a three point swing for a KD..... it's lazy scoring. I had the second fight 115-113 to Marquez. He dictated the fight for the most part, toying with Pac in a couple of rounds, but Pacquiao was always in there being competitive, winning some rounds with sheer workrate and others by landing good shots. The most telling point in this one is that Pacquiao looked a beaten fighter at the end. Wasn't a robbery, how can it be when you're only scoring it to someone by a round or 2?
