“There isn’t another fight I have wanted as much as this one,” said Marquez, WBC World Super Featherweight Champion. “I won our first fight. He won the first round and I won the next 11. He’s avoided me for four years, saying he is the “Mexican Executioner” but he isn’t because he hasn’t beaten me and he won’t beat me. I’m going to finish the job I started in 2004 and show everyone why I am a champion today.”

Pacquiao responded saying, “I have a lot of respect for Juan Manuel Marquez and his professional accomplishments. He was a worthy opponent the first time we fought and he showed a true champion’s heart to come back and stay in the fight after I knocked him down three times in the first round. He should also remember that it was a judge’s scoring error in the first round that allowed him to keep his titles that night. This is a big fight that will require my hardest training.”

Pacquaio is right about having to train hard, it should be a good fight i think Marquez is going to pull it out of the bag, ive not been that impressed with Pacquaio lately its as though he has been fighting bored?

Didn't JJM price himself out of the rematch that was planned after their first fight? I guess the price has to be right - even for the fight you want the most.

Anyway - I take JJM in the rematch.

He sure did and went to fight and lose to John for a fruction of the purse that had been offered to him for a rematch with Pacman. While JMM is a great boxer he does not appear to be the smartest guy out there business-wise.

It should be a very competitive fight, I will be cheering for my current fav. fighter - Pacman, hopefuly by Ko (so there is no scorecards error).

Yes. He (or Nacho) decided half a million dollars was "an insult." To prove this to the world, they traveled half-way across the world to fight Chris John for $35,000. Neither of those figures was a typo, mind you. His options were $500,000 to fight Pac on partial ground, or travel to Indonesia (? Don't remember where John was from) to fight a guy on his home turf for less than 10% of that insulting paycheck.

And none of it will matter a whole hell of a lot when they get in the ring. I give Marquez a great chance at winning this despite Pacman being my favorite fighter. Marquez is a MAJOR threat inside the ring, I just wish he'd cut the bull**** about being avoided.

JMM was offered $750K a couple years ago, then took the $40K to fight Chris John in INDONESIA for crying out loud!

    Whatever, just glad it's happening.
