I agree with this, people act like your supposed to take a shot on the chin like superman lol. anyone can get knocked out even a guy who brags about his chin looke at vic darcinyan. if anything Jmm has amazing recovery he might get knocked down but he recovers quick.
Exactly, but my point on JMM is that even at the point of the knockdowns, there was no visible proof that he was hurt and not in complete control of his faculties. JMM's chin should not be questioned, its not like he has gotten hit and his legs have turned to jelly like what has happened to Cotto on a few occasions.
I don't think JMM was hurt in any of the three KD's. You can tell from the look on a fighters face when they are legitimately hurt or stunned. Got no such thing from JMM.
:good .....and the explanation of those knockdown from Marquez imo is valid, considering that he did'nt look visibly hurt from those shots. ......the explanation being that he did'nt thing that Pac's left would find the mark. He misgauged the ability of Pac's left to travel the distance that it did, thrown from so far back. In essence, Marquez saw everyone of those lefts coming, but since he did'nt think the punch would travel that far to find the mark, he was'nt bracing his body appropriately for impact. In fact, he was positioning himself to counter the shots in that first round that he felt were going to fall short. .....and its a very believable explanation coming form Marquez in that few fighters close the gap as quickly and take as long a foward step as Pac does when he unleaches that left of his. ....after the first round, Marquez was'nt anywhere near close to getting dropped. Why? JMM adjusted and took into account the shots that had dropped him, and reguaged distance appropriately. JMM should have no such problems again in this rematch, seeing as he's seen the travel distance of Pac's shots first hand. There will be a feel out round only if Pac wants it, because Marquez already having faced Pac, should take off where he left off and counter Pac strong from the very first round! A counterpunching clinic starts in round 1, and the recipient will be Manny Pacquiao!:yep
Exactly!!! Pac was just starting to get fame back then. Its when he was supposed to be this unstoppable force. If he rematched JMM there was a good chance he woulda lost and that coulda ruined his rep that he worked so hard for. This is boxing and fans dont forgive you very easily. Im not saying that it was Pac that made the decision since he looks like a guy that likes a challenge but it coulda been his handlers seeing he could bring in alot of money if he kept winning
ok but of all the guys marco, morales, naseem hamed, floyd jr pacquiao was the only one to face him first! so why you dissing pacman? **** you need to chill with that crap seriously. pacman fought him when everyone feared marquez and avoided the **** outta him.
The point is, Marquez is the champ and he's fighting for less money. Swallow some pride Marquez, you're not the draw and you never will be. Pac avoided Marquez to take on Morales. I think we all know who came out richer and better in that one.
He took on JMM right AFTER MAB. I think that's as ballsy as you can get. You gotta remember, the only thing Saul has to fall back on is that "Pac couldn't beat them in their prime". Its like a broken record.
Two months to go and people are already so pumped for the rematch. I hope it doesn't disappoint like Pacquiao-Barrera II. I agree Marquez has good recuperative abilities, but a knockdown is a knockdown and it's gonna cost a fighter points. With the added 4 pounds Pacman hits harder than he did at featherweight where they first fought. I'm curious how Marquez' chin with added poundage would react to the bigger power from Pac. The saying that a fighter moving up doesn't always carry his power with him doesn't apply here because obviously we are talking about the same two fighters who both moved up, benefitting from the added poundage to add to their power and chin in absolute terms, so the effects the added weight will have are confined to each other's respective abilities, i.e., Pac's power affecting Marquez' chin and vice versa. It's different from the scenario where a fighter moving up faces a fighter who is a natural at that weight class. The question now is which fighter's abilities improved more with respect to the other's.
Skill does'nt decrease with a weight climb, power and speed do. After Pac complained about it being difficult for him to make 130 lbs, there's a good reason why the Pac camp decided to fight JMM at 130 lbs and not 135 lbs as Marquez already had let it be known he would do if it would get Pac in the ring with him. The higher the weight they fight, the more it benefits the better skilled fighter in JMM. Pac and Freddie Roach already know this!:yep :deal
JMM is a classy stylish fightr but I cant see him beating a focussed properly prepared Pacman. KO win for Pacman
