The ironic thing about this comment was Pacquiao won the second fight because we factor in additional criteria when scoring that fight (i.e. the knockdown). This is the same logic used when scoring the third fight - yes Pac did outland JMM (well, according to HBO compubox anyway), but when we factor in additional criteria (i.e. better punches, combinations, winning the individual exchanges, defense and ring generalship*) most people score the fight to JMM. *Just a sidenote: ring generalship is not simply who is moving forward - it is the boxer who uses the ring effectively, sets the pace and is effective when they do press the action and who defends better when attacked. It doesn't matter if they're going forward, side-to-side or backwards just as long as they are effective on that criteria.
No wonder all these idiots keep using them to rationalise there scorecards im now watching the HBO version of pac-jmm and im on the 6th round and Lampley must have metioned them about 20 times, **** off with this ****. Its a couple of blokes watching at ringside and clicking when they feel a clean shot was landed, theres nothing "compu" about it
I'm pretty sure that if the punch stats favoured Marquez, and he out Landed Pac in every round bar one, then you wouldn't have a problem with them mentioning it. Its ony because it shows Manny Outlanded Marquez nearly every round and that the fight wasn't a robbery like everyne is claming.
Don't get me wrong I had Marquez winning the last fight but it could have gone either way I just might give it to Manny next time I watch the fight. And as far as I am concerned, compubox stats don't mean sh*t
Idiotic argument. Did you actually see Pacquiao outlanding Marquez or not? Be very careful what you answer, your reputation is on the line.
This content is protected They look so knowledgable. They're just blokes pulled off the street to push buttons. Means nothing.
If you actually go back and look at the punches landed then you would probably find that Marquez did land more. Half the "punches" that Pac landed wouldn't even have scored in an amateur contest, the other half missed when you go back and watch the replay.
So are you claiming that pac won the fight and compu box proves that? If that's the case anyone who wins via compu box should be given the decision if no knock downs or penalties occur during a fight.
I've never liked them and hate people hiding behind numbers, look its clear who won the fight . I try not to bring any bias into things but clearly it is impossible to do this completly , i look at this as a fan of boxing not one particullar boxer. Its a shame the way things have become you have to be in one camp or the other " im a pac fan" or "im a floyd fan " **** off you ****s . Im a boxing fan
This thread isnt just about saturdays fight either i just hate the whole thing and lampleys really grating on me by mentioning them before during and after every round like it makes a blind bit of differance
CompuBox numbers seem to be appreciated only when it supports "their guy". In this case the numbers support Pac getting the win.. b.b.b.ut.. I thought Juan won. Stats don't always capture the truth behind what really took place. It helps more than it confuses things in most cases.... But this wasn't a robbery. I think it was a lucky decision that went his way. I'm hoping for #4.
