Marquez says it's Pacquiao IV or retirement. He doesn't seem to have ANY interest in Rios, Khan, or anyone else. Sad to see him go.

He is heavily involved in politics. He is supporting the PRI party (the worst by the way) and he is planning to run for congress so probably he will in fact retire.

Bonus: I just read he will fight

Bonus: I just read he will fight Cuenca on April 21th

Marquez can do whatever he wants to do, and I will support him.

He's a helluva fighter who has just recently put up one of his career best performances, despite: not getting the decision on the judges scorecards; being a heavy underdog and tipped to get stopped by most people within the first half of the fight; and being 38 years old at a weight that the last time he fought at he got thoroughly beaten.

Listen to the crowd and the read the general consensus after the fight, JMM has got nothing but love at the moment (outside of the obvious people, but they mean little).

Add on the rest of his career, and the fact that based on the 24/7's it looks like he's doing very well financially, all I can say is: good on him.

With that said, if Pac-Mayweather doesn't happen later this year, I would love for him to get his final match with Pac at his retiring fight. Win, lose or draw (controversially or decisively), it would be the perfect way for him to end.

Isn't JMM going into politics in Mexico to follow the footsteps of his idol Manny Pacquiao?

i dont want to see this again. Marquez will definately be remembered for AT LEAST winning the third bout. if they fight again it has to be after pac fights floyd so there will be no reason for a robbery.

I hope he keeps fighting, but its understandable that he'd want to retire by now.

It makes sense. If JMM has only one great fight left in him, why waste it on someone other than Pac? Juan would make much more money and a win would be far greater than beating someone like Rios. He can fight both guys but he runs the risk of getting ruined by Rios. His total annual salary would be nice however I think he's more focused on beating Pac than making a ton of money.
