Again amateur scoring rules are still subject to the perspective of the people counting the punches and again, they completely gloss over the quality or effectiveness of the punching. This is, as you'll recall from above, the chief standard that people use to judge rounds, yet any standardized system will by its very nature emphsize quantity solely. No one who follows or has followed boxing believes this is a suitable way to judge a professional fight. You cannot simply drive the subjective element out altogether. Such a system will also result in a much more unwatchable sport, as guys will be more inclined to simply land more pitter-pats than their opponent than do any real damage.

I made a thread in the meantime in which I said I re-watched the fight and I scored it for Marquez. I watched the fight live on a stream and maybe I was influenced by the biased piece of **** HBO crew. Marquez won that fight without a doubt.

I am not saying to have an amateur scoring system, just have a standardized system. If effective punching is number one criteria, then ring generalship, etc, make it an official guide instead of unwritten rule. Hopefully, that will bring consistensy.

Totally Agree - his facial expression spoke volumes ("I lost"); yet when the crooked scores were read he somehow believed that he won the fight.

It's crazy how people say Floyd is ducking Manny when the 1st negotiations were broken off by Team Manny. It's ridiculous how people have kinda rewritten history just to favor one fighter because the other is hated. If Floyd never wanted this fight, he would have stayed retired.

I'm watching the fight for the third time and it always comes up the same. It's the clearest of the three fights yet people are still trying to make a case for Pacquaio winning. This thread is implying that anyone who says robbery is accusing the judges of being in on a fix.Robbery has long been used as a term for judges getting it wrong and that is what happened here.Roach and Pacquaio both know it.Even Amir Khan, who nearly ruined the commentary with his "I love Manny" nonsense for the first half of the fight, knew Marquez won.

These are written rules. See the judges sections here: http://www.abcboxing.com/documents/abcboxing_regulatory_guidelines.htm
