Marquez reason for ducking ruslan

    "provodinkov is a great fighter but i want the champion at 147 if i fight ruslan i would not get the mandatory to fight the welterweight champion.

    marquez knows all he needs to say is he would fight pacman and it would get signed infact he turned the fight down many times....

    he also said ruslan fights at 140 so what ? he moved up to fight Bradley and would move up to face jmm

    horrible duck but in a way i can understand him ducking ruslan at this stage of his career ......:yep

    Pacquiao didn't have a belt at welter until a month ago. And Provodnikov's promoter said they'd only move to 147 for Pacquiao or Bradley. Finally, you have to keep the interests of in-house Bob in mind as well.

    Ruslan also called out Rios but then started whining about the weight. Marquez ducked Provodnikov by fighting Alvarado as much or as little as Pacquiao ducked Alvarado by fighting Rios.

    @purephase, Pacquiao wanted Alvarado, but Alvarado was the one who ducked and it was in a interview with either Fight-hype or The Boxing Channel.

    Bollocks. Top Rank created some BS story about Alvarado being injured and not ready in time to fight, then booked the Provodnikov fight before Pacquiao-Rios.
