nah, pacquiao was 145 against jmm's 141 and that was 4 pounds. pac's last known weight for fight night was 148 against margarito for a contracted 150 fight while jmm was 145 against katsidis for a 135 fight. so that would be just 3 pounds difference this time.

it doesn't matter where they would fight from 140 to 147 or even HW. they would weigh-n on their best fighting weight and would fight on their best fight night weight with just around 3 pounds separating them.

so jmm should just do what pac did against margo. that was contracted at 150 but pac weighed just 144 to retain his speed rather than bulk-up. jmm could weigh-in at 135 if he wants to and rehydrate to 145 just like in the katsidis fight.

seriously, weight should not really be much of an issue for this fight. it so happens that they are fighting at different weight class but they are roughly the same size come the night of the fight. also for whatever it's worth, jmm's last fight against ramos, he weighed 138 at weigh-in.

i don't really understand what you're arguing about. Pac offered a very reasonable 144 which was the weight he agreed to when he fought Mayweather and JMM agreed.

Even Beristain pointed out earlier on during negotiations that Pac won't have that much of a weight advantage as it's just going to be 2-3 lbs. difference on fight night.

The point is on fight night weigh in doesn't really matter. If pac wasnt drain vs marquez in the rematch pac would have won by ko. And pac is already use to fighting at over 140 pounds in which is total of 5 times and this fight will be his 6th. This will be marquez 2nd fight at over 140 pounds.

Who's desperate for this fight anyway. :patsch

Who's the fighter in a win win situation should he wins the fight. I know Pac will never be credited if he wins this one.

Fight night weigh condition will depend on what your official weight would be, so it matter if your condition to fight matters. :deal

Of course he's at a disadvantage...... Everyone knew that even before his fight with Floyd at 146. JMM is a 135 lbs fighter. He is just looking for a career high payday... He won't lie down and he'll give it a go but he knows his chance to beat pac left after dodging the immediate rematch following the gift draw he recvd back in 2004. JMM is still a warrior but hi has less of a chance to upset Pac than ortiz has in upsetting Floyd.

You're right, this fight should have taken place at 147, since Pac holds the title there.

This. Marquez wants his cake and to eat it too. I bet if Arum offered Marquez the fight at 140 but had to take something from his purse to compensate Pac for having to sacrifice his regular routine, 144 would be fine.

You *******s really have selective memory. Marquez always wanted the Pacquiao fight at 140 lbs.
Freddy Roach knowing the nightmare style for Pacquiao of Marquez has for years now insisted that if they fought a 3rd time, it would be at 147 lbs.

Anybody that knows anything knows that for Pacquiao, its not about where he's comfortable, its about making Marquez uncomfortable.

Roach has always insisted it be at 147 lbs and the only reason its not being fought at 147 lbs is because Arum was forced to make a written contractual offer indicating the fight would be at 144 lbs, because had Arum written in the contract 147 lbs, GBP had the option to match any offer Arum could offer Marquez, and they may have matched the Arum offer with a Canelo Alvarez fight for Marquez at 147 lbs.

Arum had to offer the fight at a weight he was sure Canelo Alvarez could not make.

Had it not been for GBP's option to match any offer that Arum could make to Marquez, they'd have screwed Marquez even more than they're doing now and forced Marquez to accept the fight at the full 147 lbs limit.
