147 is a disadvantage to jmm. but u know what? its the only shot he's got at pac and its the best payday out there. if i were jmm i would say take it. if you lose, your stock isn't hurt. you make same money as you did in mayweather fight. lets do it...i'll be cheering for you jmm.

The fight should be at 140. But, JMM shouldn't turn down the fight, if it's at 147. He, probably, won't get this opportunity again. If it's at 147, he should (as others have suggested) come in light, so as not to sacrifice speed.

He definately doesn't have a case for turning it down. It's a case of beggars have to take any scraps they can get

oops, just to remind you about the golden rule here at esb.
"if you lose, you're a bum, got exposed or overarrated. if you win you're on peds or whatever."

I think he's undercutting himself if he does that. He can really cement his legacy by going after a legit 140 pounder.

Marquez deserves better treatment than the 'take it or leave it' negotiations by Bob Arum.

Anything is better than a Mosley fight.

Marquez rehydrated to 145 for his last fight. emmanuel rehydrated to 148 for his last fight. Marquez wants to give emmanuel a taste of his own weight drain medicine?

agreed, Pacquiao will not weigh-in beyond 145 anyway so it's still a fair match-up. Mosley just had a loss with floyd and a draw in his last fight. Berto needs to make a name for himself first. Marquez is the best choice, lets put an end to one of boxing's biggest rivalry this generation.

i think the truly funny thing is after a few years of manny wanting his opponents to come down in weight, he now refuses to fight at 140

just a few months back *******s were saying that pac and floyd should fight at 140, because pac still held titles there...sigh

i agree...he made some nice coin off the floyd fight, and if arum/pac won't budge on the 147 he should tell them to F off, and fight a young 140 pounder
