I know I'm out on a limb here when I say Marquez could stop Pacquiao if...... he has a good sustained body attack. While it's obvious that the only time Marquez has even come close to hurting Pacquiao was in their first fight, the one thing that is apparent to me is a few of Pacquiao's opponents have had some success by going to his body, Bradley, Margarito and even Marquez. I've noticed every time Pacquaio gets hit to the body he tugs on his shorts and almost always pauses and resets. Thoughts?
Stoppage is possible. Its boxing after all. Highly unlikely tough, you need to be aggressive to force a stoppage, not counter like a *** all night.
Marquez has not come CLOSE to stopping Pacquiao in three fights. What makes you think it would happen in the fourth?
@Slothrop Desperation! Marquez knows he's not getting a decision so he will have to take more risks. I think Marquez was having a lot of success early in their 3rd fight by going to the body, but then just decided to stop. It seems like Marquez has focused more on his strength and speed training for this fight, which tells me he may just come out more aggressive.
Sadly we can't make everyone understand the sport. Some people think every bout should be a slugfest. That's why I like the terms the sweet science and the fistic arts.
@Outboxer I stand corrected. Marquez has had his moments against Pacquiao in all 3 fights and I am of the opinion that Maruez won the first fight which was called a draw, despite the inaccurate scoring of the first round. But you are actually helping me make my point, Pacquiao can be hurt and stopped, I just believe Marquez can do it by having a good sustained body attack. Pacquiao does not react well to body shots as he showed against Margarito and Bradley and to an extent Marquez. That shot Marquez landed in the 2nd fight appeared to catch Pacquiao more by surprise than anything, but it was a beautiful shot!
Oh dear!!! What a ****ing blight this bloke was. Entire forum should be thanking me for goading him into taking that ban bet. :deal
