He seems like Arguello was defo one of his fave's as he was growing up. He talks about Arguello all the time, haven't seen him all day today, and know he'd have some good stuff to talk with ya'll on this. I'm too young, and have only read stuff....need to do some homework on this ATG myself.:yep
Man you gotta check out some film on the "Explosive thin man." He is one of my favorite fighters ever. He didn't have blazing speed. Average speed at best but his timing, power, technique, chin, and stamina made him one of the best. He was truly a class act outside of the ring also, very humble and had a huge heart. There isn't a whole lot on youtube but there is some and I would recommend it to any boxing fan.
Will certainly check into it... hell the way Boo talks about him, he was godly. If I'm not mistaken (damn I hope I don't look real stupid here) I think I saw on Classic his 2nd fight with A. Pryor. But from what I could tell that was the end of his career and not what he once was. Boo usually refers to him as Alexis "****ing" Arguello.:yep:good
Check out his fights with Bobby Chacon, Alfredo Escalera I and II, Royal Kobayashi, Ruben Castillo and Ruben Oliveres. This was prime Arguello. 130 lb Arguello. Those were all damn good fighters and he beat them all. I still haven't seen a few of those fights and have been dying to check them out. Arguello has the best resmue at 130 of all time. He wasn't too shabby at Lightweight either.
