I mean, seriously. He's ****ing 35 years old and he's chasing a rubbermatch with Manny Pacquiao. He's officially 0-1-1 against the guy... it takes real courage to want to fight somebody again in that situation...even if it was arguable that he won both fights. The clincher is that, after Pacquiao jumped divisons and picked up a paper title, Marquez jumped divisions and knocked out the man. Now Marquez is the lineal champion and Pacquiao will have to fight him again. What JMM needs to do is fight Campbell as soon as possible. If he KO'd Nate and held 3 belts + the lineal title for the Pacquiao rubbermatch...he's setting himself up to be a living legend. It's pathetic that we have guys ducking unification and legit challengers for years when Marquez is hopping up weight divisions, KO'ing champions, and chasing the P4P #1.
I think if Marquez had a shot at the DLH lottery, he would have taken it. Just saying. That said, when Pacquiao and Marquez meet again, it'll once again be great.
JMM VS NATE!!! JMM TKOs him, JMM might not hit as hard as Peden but he hits accurately and is a lot faster (I won't even bother to mention the discrepensy skillwise). Also Nate's best win is over baby bull diaz who is featherfisted and fights nothing like JMM. Good match though, should be interesting. Make it happen!! Unfortunately one thing to keep in mind is that age will eventually catch up with Marquez, but he has already proven himself so its all good.
He'd be stupid not to fight DLH for the money. Right now the best thing for JMM to do is start cleaning out the 135 pound division. He's got to build on his resume. Juan Diaz and Nate Campbell would be open game for JMM.
imo it takes more courage to rematch someone when you win a close decision over them than the other way around. The loser has nothing to lose that he didn't already. See how Campbell was chasing a rematch with Casa, but Casa wasn't interested.
am i wrong? Cazares wants to rematch Calderon, but Calderon isn't interested. This is something that is common in boxing. The guy who wins a close decision says he doesn't need to rematch, and the guy who lost says he deserves one. wtf? Its pure logic not hating. I definately think JMM deserves a rematch, I'm not hating at all. Just making a valid point
