Pac-JMM 3! at least i hope. I think JMM will finally get it here. Im actaully thinking by TKO even. The move up in weight has benefitted JMM very well in the power department. Pacs power does not look as impressive in the higher weight classes his speed is still there. Both have slowed in the speed department by a lil bit but nothing drastically.
So what do u think of Pac-Marquez 3? I have been waiting for that fight since the end of the 12th round of the second.
you want a deep analysis? I think if Marquez still has the will to put in a massive training camp like he did last time around, the fight will go down to the wire. However i feel that soon enough his body will get the best of him and the training camps will take their toll and he will put in a half-assed training camp and if he does he will lose to Pacquiao convincingly. Pacquiao despite having many outside distractions that might **** with other people's training camps seems to always prepare himself 100%. If JMM comes in ready like he did last time around, and Pac comes in ready like he did last time around, then its a close fight with maybe the added weight helping Pacquiao a little bit but probably not.
I thought JMM vs Pacquiao II was both of them at their best. So for me any more fights is not that meaningful, just a joy to watch. On any given day the fight can go either way, but at the end of the day I feel Pac's superior ability to take JMM's punches is the drop that gives him that ever so slight edge.
Of course this is possible but I cant see him winning over JMM so that will lead us to Pac-JMM III which is the fight most fans want to see.
Going from Pitalua to Marquez or Pacquiao is a long jump. In-between there are guys like Barrios, Katsidis, Antillon, even Juarez and Soto. I personally am intrigued now by Valero. I thought Pitalua would have given him a tough test, but because Valero blew him out I would like to see him in against these other lightweight contenders to really see what he is made of. Pitalua might have been initimidated being in a big fight, or by Valero or just maybe, Valero was that good.
I will actually say the same but for JMM. I think the jump up in weight will help JMM more. I have always said this and from what i have seen from both of them in the weight jump i think it has favored JMM more.
The scenario I'm envisioning is Pac losing to Hatton.... ....so I think that of the 3 scenario's you've posted, a Pac-Valero fight is more likely ...... If Pac loses to Hatton.....Hatton likely fights JMM next.....and where would that leave Pac??? ...at this point Pac-Valero becomes very intrigueing because of their similar styles, two southpaws that throw thunder.
It's the most cautious Valero has ever been in a fight. He usually starts right out bombing people at the bell. Whatever skill level Pitalua may have had he still knocked out 40 of 46 opponents in victory which means getting caught by a huge shot from him will be detrimental to Valero's health so he played it carefully until he got a feel for Pitalua's speed & timing. Valero basically sensed that Pitalua was also being very cautious so he played on that by starting to throw power shots to the body then quick combos to the head to intimidate him. It was pretty clear that Pitalua's gameplan was to counter something wild from Valero but Valero's speed and timing made it difficult to accomplish that early in the fight. Pitalua is a pretty sturdy guy and hasn't been stopped since 1995 which means that despite being a power puncher his chin was solid enough to allow him to always go for the knockout. The punch that dropped him was a really short right hook off the backfoot after missing with a left. Despite being a southpaw, Valero has dropped and/or KOed at least half a dozen opponents with his right hook although his straight left is his money punch most of the time.
If Pac loses to Hatton, Marquez will have his chance at a third fight with Pacquiao, and he'll be lucky if he gets it! :yep
