No. From that angle it may look like his right foot is slipping. But what you're really seeing is Vasquez lunging forward with a leaping hook. Most hookers leap slightly to load up on shots from time to time, like Ricky Hatton for example.

Exactly, Vasquez was lunging forward to load up . . . but then he saw that right coming so he tried to back out in the last moment, where his left foot is not touching the canvas . . . reason why he lost his balance.

No arguement on the Marquez left hook landing . . . it clearly hit the mark solidly but that's not the reason why he fell backwards..

I dont understand what the huge deal is. . . the only real contraversy IMO is wether the ref stopped it too early. . .IMO is was a bit early but Vasquez looked clearly stronger that night and most likely would have stopped Rafa anyway.

I picked Rafa to win and was rooting for him but Izzy earned mad respect from any true fight fan. . . Andre Dirrell, Spinks, FMJ, Malagnagi, Raheem should all be forced to watch that fight and bow down.

If you can't see Vasquez's balance was fine up until the point Marquez landed the left hook you're either being misled by Al Bernstein's commentary or flat out ****ing ******ed.

You can't slip if your foot is in the air.

    Case closed.
