Innocent until proven guilty. He made Pac sleep. That is one hell of a punch at the right moment.

They made each other really. When it comes to popularity and fan appeal, in some fights there isnt a loser. Bradley/Prov was one of those. Bradley got some deserved respect, Ruslan got some rating an popular interest.

What you say about Ruslan might have held true a year ago, but these days... people are interested to see him fight. He is a fun fighter to watch, and I gaurantee you everyone who knows anything about Bradley other than the PAC fiasco also knows Ruslan now.

It's also likely that if you don't know who Provodnikov is then you probably don't know who Alvarado is either.

If I had to guess it's Top Rank trying not to wear Marquez out too much (which is difficult when in there with Provodnikov win or lose) and saving him for Pacquiao... Or Bradley.

I pretty much agree. Alvarado is actually more Versatile than Ruslan and has the longer reach.

Fighters like Ruslan, Marquez chews up and spits out.

I do think Ruslan is overrated. Bradley took Ruslan lightly and was out of shape looking bloated in the ring when he faced him.
Then Ruslan takes on Alvarado who was coming off of two wars with Rios.
Those two took alot out of eachother.

Alvardo is more worn, but stylewise he matches up better to Marquez than Ruslan would imo.

One thing I will say about Marquez, he's earned the right to fight whoever the **** he wants. Man is 40 years old for God's sake.

i know that Alvarado and Marquez are both coming off defeats, i understand that. BUT, Marquez is coming off a decision loss were he didn't suffer any damage what so ever. Alvarado on the other hand is coming off 2 wars with Rios, and an absolute Ass whooping from Prov. he shouldn't be fighting any more if truth be told.

so if Marquez is going to fight him, i call bull****. it should be Prov or no one.

it's not like Marquez fights the best guys out there when not fighting Pac. he fights the easy ones. so take Prov you ***** or keep your mouth shut. it's a disgrace to take on a fighter that should be punch drunk after the constant wars he's in.

    just my 2 pence.

Provodnikov would destroy Marquez, would end his career and probably would severely injury Marquez. Provodnikov almost ended Bradley's career, left Bradley on the canvas.................

Nazim caught him trying to cheat in his fight vs Mosley.

More evidence than you will ever need. This lead the Cali boxing commissions to suspend him for 1 year.

Was there any evidence or any rumours of JMM cheating besides the word of *******s?

    NOpe.

Pac was coming off a brutal, one punch KO that rendered him almost lifeless for minutes. He was fighting a guy who came off a close decision loss.

That doesn't compare to JMM losing a slick decision fighting a guy who received a brutal beatdown to the point where he quit in front of his home town. Not to mention while shamelessly avoiding the guy that did that to his would be opponent.

The two aren't comparable in their contexts, at all.

just as above, none of these fit the contexts. A fight is about more then just the level of the fighters involved or whos coming off a win and who isn't. It also has to do with the context in which the fight is being held.

Not one of your examples involves 'the opponent' coming off a stoppage loss. Not one. To act like the context in which the fight is being held doesn't change anything is just willfully ignoring a huge aspect of matchmaking.

Hes fighting a guy who received a horrendous beatdown in his last fight, and is 1-2 in his last three. Theres just no way to spin that.

JMM got outboxed in his last fight, its not like it was some brutal war. So he lost a decision and now he gets an easy fight?

Everyone I suppose are going to have their own standards, but to me, JMM coming off a decision loss against a top p4p guy, going to then fighting someone who got stopped badly in their last fight, is 1-2 in their last three, while completely avoiding the guy that did it to him, is just.. lame, I guess.

The fight is a complete waste of time and why should it be defended? Because some feel JMM should have an easy fight? :huh

I guess I can understand that.... but then at least pick someone of lower level that didn't get their heart ripped out of them in their last fight.

    Idk.

Alvarado is clearly a stay-active fight as he waits for the winner of Pacquiao-Bradley II. There's no point risking his last big money shot against Provodnikov when it won't offer him much in return anyway.

Says who?. There's still quite a lot of people, myself included, that want to see him fight Pacquiao a fifth time.

There are lots of fighters who get KOd in brutal fashion and still continue their careers and even have success. You seem to think Alvarado is some vegetable who is incapable of ever stepping into the ring again. The fact is we don't know what he has left. If he does still have something left, then he is a better opponent than a lot of fighters I named earlier.

I think this fight, like pacquiao's fight against rios, will prove what marquez has left himself. he may not have lost in brutal fashion like pac, but his 40 and has been in several wars over the years.

you make it seem like marquez is in his prime and should be chasing legacy fights. i think after he defeated pacquiao and won their series in his eyes, anything after is all gravy. i just don't understand reaction considering JMM's age and wear and tear. :huh
