Wow JMM shamelessly ducking Provodnikov who has been repeatedly challenging him since he brutalized and TKO'd Alvarado in October. Marquez's reply to Provodnikov was that he sees no point in fighting Provodnikov and that at his age he's only looking to get in fights "that will make history" but then he goes back on his word and decides to fight Alvarado who was brutally stopped in his last fight when the guy who dealt out that punishment has been repeatedly challenging him for the last 5 months. What comes out of Dinamita's mouth is as worthless as the **** that goes in there.

its a clear duck but i think marquez gets a pass. he is a first-ballot hall of fame fighter at the tail-end of his career.

It's obvious that Marquez passed on this fight to take an easier stay-active fight in Alvarado as he waits for the winner of Bradley-Pacquiao II. Provodnikov offers too much risk for little reward with no title.

JMM knows he wouldn't get past Prov, we all know this, so it is no big deal.
The guy is in his 40's and is a HOF fighter, so he gets a pass.

    Provodnikov > Alvarado > Rios

Marquez could pick a worse opponent, I suppose...

he is an old man, he needs few more fights for extra cash and its over.

I understand why he dont want to get in with provo, that would be end of his career..

yeah alvarado is the easier fight. but they both came off losses. so it makes sense. provo should fight some one coming off a win.
