It's tough but I gotta go with Marquez, given the way I rate Juan Diaz... he BRINGS it & when he puts it on you, damn does he put it ON you! Great pressure-fighter...

Also, Roger had been broken twice before the Chavez fight if what I'm told is true...
whereas Diaz WAS definitely the best lightweight by proxy as soon as Marquez dispatched Casamayor, leaving no other challenger for lightweight supremacy EXCEPT The Baby Bull.

It's VERY close but I call Marquez over Juan Diaz...! His accuracy in that fight, off the back foot, was a thing to behold! Especially once he got his timing down & from then on begun to take over the fight...

Performance - Mayweather in terms of completeness, Marquez's KO punch was a beautiful 1 though but JMMs defense was pretty poor

Better Win - Diaz was more proven but Chavez is underappreciated himself

Yeah both of this were not big punchers but very good pressure fighters the only thing is that Mayweather was in his BEST weight class and Marquez was fighting the bigger man both were very good wins but i will have to go with Marquez vs Diaz.

Btw i thought that Chavez brought the best out of Mayweather that night.

Admittedly I haven't seen many Roger Mayweather fights... but I'd tend to agree with that!

    Great fights, both are classics...!

It's Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jesus Chavez

    Not Roger vs Julio Cesar

Roger... and I believe this was at light-welter (with Chavez going up from lightweight.. think he had 1 or 2 smaller fights awhile before this though at 140.. just jumping up to test the waters.. not sure though!)

In light of this moment of clarity :D, ..it's NOT close.

Great performance by Floyd... but Marquez wins... even IF he got hit a fair few times in his fight vs. Juan Diaz!
