Marquez vs Judah probable - July 30 in Vegas

    Any thoughts on this - obviously subject to Golden Girl inking a deal to keep Marquez :think

    Personally, I like this matchup for Marquez. He's already proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he's the best lightweight in the world, and given that he enters the ring in the mid-140's should be comfortable weighing in around 138/139 for this one.

    Judah is obviously past his best, though he looked fairly impressive stopping Mabuza after a dodgy performance against Matthysse in his previous contest.

    I'd expect Judah to make a pretty fast start as per usual, before he starts getting tagged with right hands and uppercuts as he tries to maintain his pace in the middle rounds.... before he fades further and is rescued by his corner in the championship rounds.

    This should hopefully set us up for a 3rd showdown with Pacquiao, assuming he defeats Mosley next month.

    He either faces Judah or he faces Pacquiao - the issues between GB/TR means he won't be able to do both.

    Fair play to Zab if he takes this.

    The IBF seem to love him so I'm sure he could just take on some rubbish Saffers for the next couple of years and make decent money.

    The last thing he wants now is a KO loss to Marquez. Or so you'd think anyway.

    Well it's a good winable fight for Marquez to pick up a strap at 140, but from a fans point of view it's pretty far down the list of fights I'd like to see him in.

    Good fight.

    Judah still has good speed and power - especially with the left cross / uppercut that he can disguise well. Marquez, if he can be as active as getting close to 100 punches per round, will break Judahs will and stop him. Not a given though by any stretch

    I dont like this fight for marquez his years at the top may be up he has not looked very impressive since casa fight imo even against a faded fighter like zab who seems rejuvenated mentally it will be a challenge and im not keen on punch reistance of marquez i expect him to be stopped late in a shocker.

    I would also like to see maidana vs katsidis like alot of other posters but surprisingly i would pick katsidis in this war kats may be outboxed by the elite but he can be quick on the inside with hooks and uppercuts against brawlers around his weight class.

    Really like the look of this fight. The nest chance Marquez has of getting a belt at 140 whilst Judah still has enough skills and power to keep it interesting. Obviously both a re past their prime but that should make the fight very exciting to watch i think. I reckon a Marquez stoppage late on personally

    I do like the fight yes , its a very good fight i hope it gets made TBH .

    I thought Judah was excellent against Mabuza but Marquez isnt Mabuza , you could expect Judah to be as close as he can to being at the top of his game which should make for a great fight given that he will be bigger and maybe faster than Marquez at least initially .

    Im looking forward to seeing how Marquez breaks Judah down and how he will put his shots together against a fast , slick , tricky southpaw

    That goes without saying.

    I wouldn't mind seeing Marquez in with Khan, Bradley or Maidana rather than Zab..... but with Khan & Bradley seemingly on collision course and Maidana tanking against Erik on Saturday it basically leaves Zab. Or Alexander, who won't fancy the job anyway given that he's been promised big bucks for his comeback fight by HBO.

    Hopefully Marquez negotiates a clause which would leave him free to take a Pacquiao fight should it become available. It would be criminal if promotional problems prevented the two best fighters in the world from facing each other.

    :patsch are you serious? mayweather couldn't hurt marquez, he took pac's power, no way judah can ko jmm with 1 punch, marquez will put a beating on judah and stop him late..jmm all day, new 4 weight world champion hall of famer come summer time.
